Hi everyone, this is my first post in this subforum. My DH and I recently decided to TTC. I went off of birth control about seven months ago as I figured we would start trying this year and it may take longer since I had been on BC for such a long time. During my annual OBGYN visit in December, my doctor reminded me that I had a tilted uterus. I have never thought much about this before since it was not painful and did not bother me at all. However, since we have been TTC this year, I was wondering if anyone has experience with a tilted uterus and conceiving? Is there anything I should be doing to better my chances of conceiving? My doctor tells me that I should have no problem but I thought I would ask for personal experiences from TPF. Thanks so much for reading this!

From experience with my second it had no effect on me conceiving as I conceived within a month.

I have a very retroverted uterus, to the point that it affects the position of my cervix. I'm actually pregnant now (and have been before also) and it's so tilted it means we can't hear the baby's heartbeat till about 14 weeks (most people can at about 10) and means I can't have a CVS since my uterus is in the back -- it's questionable whether it will tip forward in time for a regular amnio, but it did with my son. That said, it's had no impact on me getting pregnant at all. I've gotten knocked up twice naturally within six months of trying when over 35; also had one successful IUI (due to ovulation issues, nothing to do with the tipping). So I wouldn't stress about it too much.

When I was in my early 20's I was told i had a tilted uterus. My OB at the time said it wouldn't cause any problems having children, and that his wife had one also. I'm now 41 and conceived naturally twice (I just gave birth two weeks ago to my Brianna) so I'm sure you will be totally fine!!!

Hi-I am now 48 yrs old, have a tilted uterus, and have given birth to my last child at the age of 43!!(we WERE NOT TRYING) We lost our first baby when I was 3mo. along. Then we tried for a year with nosuccess-I think we were trying too hard. I lost all faith, but then one day I just figured whatever will be will be. (I got pregnant that month.) I now have 3 beautiful daughters-moral of the story is just relax and don't try too hard-that's usually when it happens. Best of luck to all of you trying.

Tilted uterus here as well. No problem conceiving.

The only problem with any pregnancies due to the tilted uterus was #2, where it blocked my bladder about 3 months, that was a bit of a pain and scary (because I had no clue). They did have to put a catheter in to drain, but then uterus was big enough to tip forward and all was well....so for all those with tilted uterus' just remember to empty your bladder completely (lean forward) and often and you'll be fine.

Hmmm, interesting about the bladder. Will definitely remember that for when / if it happens! I drink lots of water so I'm always emptying it feels like! :) I'm glad to see that there are others here that have the same issue and have not had problems conceiving.

I will know hopefully Saturday if we have succeeded this month.....I don't feel any different so I'm not getting my hopes up. I refuse to test until after Saturday. I dont' want to be disappointed too early.

Thanks again everyone for the comments! It has been very reassuring!
