I guess I should add myself to this thread...had a blighted ovum last year and took a long time to conceive after that. Had a hysterosonogram in August and BOOM! I just had my first ultrasound today at 6w5d. Everything is perfect! Now I'm sprinkling mounds of baby dust in this forum!

I didn't think I'd ever get to post this, but got two BFP's this week. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 33 in 2003. Had to do chemotherapy, radiation, lumpectomy surgery, Tamoxifen medication-the works. I figured my ovaries were fried from the treatments. At 39, it doesn't seem real. A part of me still doesn't believe it. I didn't think I would still be alive nearly six years later, let alone ever conceive. The only symptoms I've had so far are missing my period, of course, frequent urination, and some cramps.

Thanks, everyone, for the responses. I went ahead and took a digital pregnancy test and got another positive, just to be sure. I'm just in disbelief right now, and so is my hubby. He is the same age as I am, so he is feeling pretty scared, too. I think he is not only worried about the baby, but about me, too. Like others have said, I've got a lot of reading to do in the next few months.

I don't know if I should post this here or not, so mods please move this if needed.

It appears, sadly, that I am having a miscarriage. I've been bleeding and cramping quite a bit for the past two days. I'm going to the hospital today to have some bloodwork done to confirm it. With everything that has happened to me, I should have known better than to get excited or happy. I feel as if I am learning a harsh lesson-if it's too good to be true, then it probably is. At 39, you'd think I'd know this already. I guess it felt good think that I was normal, like other women, at least for just a few days.
