^nope. I can't imagine (just off the pill a couple of weeks), and when I stopped the vitamins for a day or two, I felt a bit better. They make me feel dizzy and exhausted, and I usually can't get more than 5 hours of sleep because of my work, but with these vitamins, I feel like I need 8!

I know!!! My Dr suggested this one & it's $45+ for a month's worth. My insurance does not cover them (I was told by asking around that most insurances do not cover prenatal vits). I just take mine right before bed.

i used to take duet dha and thought they werent bad. there was the occasional fish oil burb, but not bad. I heard they were being discontinued, so my pharm doesnt carry them any more. Now i take prenate elite. they seem so low budget looking ( no fancy box like Duet) and cost like $40! They also have a stool softener ( sorry) in them. . I understand that you can be constipated when you get pregnant, but who knows when that will be...( i should have a better outlook, i know.)
Why are they so expensive!

Im also taking primacare one. They are big purple coated (thank goodness) tablets that go down so easy. I remember I used another kind when I was pregnant with my son and they were not coated and chalky and did NOT go down easy at all! Primacare ones are great and don't hurt my stomach or make me sick either.

I take USANA Essentials. I've seen people who take it give birth to really bright intelligent children.

I bought something called "belly bars" from target. I try to take my vitamins but they come up a lot, its the only time i'm sick to be honest. They have lots of vitamins specifically for pregnant and nursing women and taste yummy... http://www.nutrabella.com/

If you are planning to TTC again after the rest, then you should. I am taking it still. I went to OB today to have my last checkup after my miscarriage in May. Everything went fine and OB prescribed me with prenatal again. He said its good to take once you're ready again. Hope you recover soon too!

I take Primacare (purple box) two pills a day. AM and PM dose. It has a smell to it, maybe slight chocolate like. I try not to taste it at all. It's a RX I got from the doctor. I had it filled once and came out to $45 for 1 month supply with insurance. My doctor has tons of samples so I load up on the free samples!

I have a sneaking suspicion that certain prenatal brands are pushed by doctors because they get some sort of bonus for pushing it. My dr. was pushing Prenate Elite on me and it was $50 a month. He said it was the best one out there and much better than anything else. After a year I asked him about switching to a more affordable prenatal vitamin and he totally changed his tune and told me that thye're all the same and to just get one from any local store vitamin section...

It would be illegal for them to get some kind of bonus for prescribing a certain medicine, but the doctor certainly could have been swayed by drug company marketing (maybe a rep was recently in the office talking about how incredible a particular prenatal was, for example).
