Ok so in the next paragraph or so I might come across as Psycho, you have been forwarned!
I have what I think is morning sickness but conception would have been just over a week ago. Is this impossible? To have the sickies this quickly? The last time I was pregnant was seven years ago, I cant even remember how I felt but i remember that I "knew" within days I was pregnant. This pregnancy unfortunately resulted in a late miscarridge. But anyway, i took a pregnancy test, probably way too early and it came back negative. I am an absolute wreck! I shouldnt have taken it that early and i'm psyching myself out... My DH thinks i'm a crazy woman crying over a baby that isnt there! has anybody had false negatives when you have taken the test too early? heres hoping.. xx |

A few girls on the tPF have had negatives as a result of testing too early and were actually pregnant. It happens alot... so much so that we have a support group for early testers.

I took a p.test a couple days before my period was due and it came negative--but I just had this feeling so the next day I took another the results were indefinite--which I believe is supposed to be a negative result. I called my obgyn and they said to come in for a blood test--so I did--they called me the next day and said test was neg. I asked how reliable this test was--they said a blood test was the most reliable way to check and could detect pregnancy days after conception and I was most definitely NOT pregnant. I was devestated--it was my first. So I went home and that night my sister and I had a couple glasses of wine--I figured Im not pregnant so I might as well. After my period was a week late I called my obgyn again--went in for another test--PREGNANT!!!
Delivered a beautiful healthy baby girl!! Keep up the positive thinking--You definitely have hope!! |

With my pregnancies i tried not to test until at least 2 days after my missed period that way i wouldn't get disappointed with a false neg. But with my sister She took a test 2 days before AF and got a neg then two days later had light spotting for two days the next day she took another test wich came back neg. One month later she missed AF took a preg test and it came back pos. when she went in for her doctors appointment she was 12 weeks pregnant instead of 8, wich means the earlier test she took were both false neg. I'm guessing some peoples pregnancy hormone levels aren't as high in the begining as others. keeping my fingers crossed for you good luck sweetie.

Don't be discouraged! Just relax and take another test in a week...or the day you're supposed to get your period. Good Luck!

Yes it is best to wait until the Day AF is due. I know it is hard but that way you are at least more sure than testing too early. Good luck and welcome to the board. Keep us posted!!

I never had a false positive but I did have cramps....and then they just faded, and at the time I WAS pregnant, so hold on.....is the test you took the kind where you can tell before the first missed day of your period? Honestly, and I know how hard this is, I'd just try to relax and wait until you're a day or two late, take another, and take it first thing in the morning. Keep us posted!!! |
