If we get pregnant, I'd love to have a boy since I have a girl, and it'd be nice to have one of each. But if I end up with another girl, I certainly won't complain!

Now that DH and I have decided to TTC this year we've been having some pretty heavy convos about babies, being parents, discipline, etc. We pretty much agree on everything except the number of children we'll have. I've always thought I'd have one and that'd be it. I'm one of four children and felt completely left out when growing up. Despite showing us lots of love and giving us the things we needed my parents struggled to cover costs and worked long hours, which meant we rarely saw them. I don't want my child/children to be raised like that. So I've always thought I'd just have one pregnancy and see what happens. Several of my relatives, as well as my sister, have had twins so if I have two babies with the first pregnancy it would be my last. Well that's what I thought. But DH said he'd love at least one of each, a boy and a girl. So if I have a boy first, or twin girls first he would want to try again. I've tried to tell him that despite having several pregnancies there's no guarantee we'll end up with both a boy and a girl. For all we know we could be destined to have all girls, or all boys. Sorry for all the rambling. We're still talking things out and really... until we actually get pregnant and have our first child it's impossible to tell what we'll want when the time comes.

Well, ideally happy and healthy... but DH & I both have in mind a boy first with three kids being our target goal. Our order of preference is boy, boy, girl - but as with everything in life, it is subject to change and if we have a girl first, that's fine too...

I am not TTC but my SO brought up having a 'little Charlie' running around and I started crying!! haha I love him I've seen the way he is with his mom (She serves him and his dad hand and foot) and I am not ready for him to raise a son and both of them expect that from me too!! Silly I know..

Our son is almost 7...he is requiring a girl!!!

I was looking at baby clothes today with a girlfriend...the first time really looking since finding out and I got all teary-eyed!!! I found super cute girl and boy outfits that today, I decided that it doesn't matter what God gives me...I am going to be so happy!!!

Now...as long as we can get our son on the same page, we'll be all set!

That's the truth! With my first, I always thought I'd get PG when I was ready, but I didn't become ready until it actually happened! And then I kinda figured that most people are never really truly ready so I should go with the flow.

And I'd always thought I'd go right back to work -- I mean, what was I going to do at home with a baby??? But after she was born, I couldn't do it. I didn't want to go back to work and I quit my job (there was no option for me to come back PT or after a longer maternity leave).

And I thought I wanted one too, but last year, I was thinking how nice it'd be for DD to have a sibling. That's what got us TTC...

We're getting married spring 2010 so we're thinking of starting end of next year. We'll both be 30 and I don't think DF can wait any longer...he says he doesn't want to be the old dad at the HS graduation LOL. But anyway I don't want to find out the sex for my first baby but I would love a boy first because DF would be so ecstatic. He's dying for a boy so badly LOL but he says a healthy baby is what matters. I honestly don't care as long as its healthy.

I'd kind of like to have a girl, but I think that is just because I know all the girl things. I know what kind of toys and clothes girls like and I remember how it was to grow up etc. I have a brother, so I know something, but it would still be a lot of learning for me if I'd have a boy. But of course both are very, very welcome and very much loved.
