Interesting thread!

DH and I would both like to have a baby girl, but for some reason I see myself with two boys. Bill would love that too. As everyone know, as long as the baby is healthy you will be thrilled.

Korilynn, My OB does the second ultrasound at 18 weeks, it was the same for my last two babies. I know how you feel i'm so impatient and i'm getting soo anxious. I don't really care wether i have a boy or a girl since i already have one of each, I just want to make sure i have a healthy baby and i want to start shopping LOL.

I once have a preference hoping to have a boy first and now it doesn't matter to me anymore... as long as he/she is healthy and normal.

If by ovulation calendar, you mean charting your basal body temperature to determine when you ovulate, then the answer is yes. Check out the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. By charting your temp first thing in the morning (using a special basal body temp thermometer), you can predict when you will ovulate each month. For a girl, you have sex as far away from ovulation as possible to still get pg, and for a boy you want to have sex as close to ovulation as possible.

This is mostly myth, though lots of people believe it. While it may be true that x/y sperm are faster, determination of the sex of the baby probably has more to do with factors we have little control over. Some men have stronger x/x or x/y sperm, and some women have physiologies that are more hospitable to x/x or x/y sperm. There have been studies indicating that how a woman eats affects whether she has a boy or girl, and that is likely because diet affects the ph of the vaginal and uterine environment. Diet, temperature and drug use (both Rx and recreational) can affect male sperm counts and types. Those things and how they work together are far more likely to determine the sex of a baby than timing or position.

I used to want to have a girl first... then I changed my mind to a boy... and now I DON'T CARE, I just want it to be healthy and come here finally... One lil' miracle that will call me mommy
My DH doesn't care either... he says either way it's going to be a Formula1 driver... (I sure hope the baby will take after DH and be as tall as him thus not qualify for this 'exciting' sport lol)

It doesn't matter either way we just want a healthy baby. but for my fiance's sake i'll say a boy first to keep him occupied. even though it doesn't matter to him he still prefers a boy....i think he's worried about karma coming to bite him in the behind if we have girls LOL

For me, as long as it is healthy...but my DH would LOVE to have a girl- if we do, she will be named after my mom, Sarita, who has passed away.
