I took Clomid for a few cycles but it didn't make me ovulate any extra eggs....just one each time. For many people, though, it results in the ovulation of multiple eggs and increases their conception odds.

When I took it, I didn't experience any detectable symptoms, EXCEPT for massive belly bloating. I mean, VERY noticeable belly bloating. My waist just disappeared.

Good luck! Clomid works great for a lot of people!

I used it and was successful for 2 pregnancies.
I was on 50mg the first time and conceived my first month - noted zero side effects.
I was on it 2nd time - 50mg for 5 months w/ no side effects and then final month {6th month} we increased it to 100mg + progesterone suppositories and I conceived my twins this time, also no side effects.

If you are prone to cysts you should be watched closely as you can get cysts on your ovaries, this usually causes a swollen appearance.
I didn't cramp, gain weight, no appetite change, etc. . . .

It's supposed to increase your chances for multiples by about 7%.

I took it for 3 months while ttc because I was not ovulating, ever. Well, maybe once every 6 months. My issue was insulin resistance, which is often the same thing as pcos but in my case, no cysts on my ovaries. Anyway...I did clomid 50 mg, 100 mg and even 150 mg the third month with no ovulation at all. But the hot flashes I had were so terrible. What ended up working for me was addressing my insulin resistance with meds designed for diabetics. I was pg within 3 months, stopped taking the meds and had a normal, healthy pg and baby.

No one else has mentioned the hot flashes, so hopefully they are rare. I wish you all the best!

OMG people- who is on this right now besides me?
Can it get ANY HOTTER?
I don't want to go through menopause if that is what it is like... I just keep saying, "OMG I am so hot" This is ridiculous, today I am on my 4th day of it.

1 month later- more side effects- still hot flashes, now massive headaches- massive, and hungry all the time and weight gain, massive mood swings- can be REAL angry and yelling 1 min, crying my eyes out the next. (My husband thought someone died the way I was crying) . I hope I get pregnant this month cause I am telling my doctor I can not take this medicine anymore.

Hi Duranie

I have taken Clomid four times whilst TTC - each for 6 months at a time.

I too suffered from hot flashes, which lessened when I changed from taking the medication in the evening rather than the morning.

I now run a fertility forum so feel free to drop me a PM

x

I am not sure if I need to try this or not. Blood tests I have taken showed that I was ovulating normally, and I think that I am anyway since even I notice the sharp rise in my libido before ovulation. So far according to bloodwork I am functioning normally. But two years of trying has amounted to nothing. My husband is supposedly normal too, and he is only 30 (I am 34). I have been pregnant once before, eight years ago. I feel like there is nothing I can do. I have lived a very healthy life, never smoked, used drugs, been overweight, or had an irregular pap. I look ten years younger than I am. I don't get it. sorry for the rant.

OOH boo hoo hoo, GYN wants me to do 1 more month of Clomid , then go to a reproductive center for IVF or IUI. She told me to take Excedrin for the head aches. What about the crying and weight gain and hot flashes/ night sweats? ugh

^Think of it this way, just one more try, if that works, you wont have to go through all the rest, which from what I've heard sound way more horrible.

I've been on clomid for 5 months now with no luck. my dr. mentioned something about my uterus being tilted back so its much harder to conceive. we've been doing the pillow thing for 5 month too. still no luck. I have no side effects from the clomid besides crying. i'm wondering if anyone has tried the turkey baster method? i always hear stories about that working...

Hello ladies...is it ok if I join you?

I have done Clomid once and I also had tried IVF - but the reproductive specialist stopped my trial because my eggs weren't big enough. There was no point in going further.

Very depressed about it.

Two weeks ago - I just completed a laproscopy (surgical procedure) where the surgeon goes in and cleans out cyst and polyps that may be in the way causing infertility.

Next month (April) - I have ANOTHER prescription of Clomid...again. Please pray for me and keep fingers crossed. I hope this works...my DH has a child with previous spouse and I feel very left out of the "Family" because this is not my child.

Is that normal? Anyone else feel like that?
