Default Breastfeeding and crazy cycles?
Anyone else? I got my first postpartum period Nov 16 then that cycle lasted 61 days with no ovulation. Now, I am on CD 33 with no ovulation yet and kind of concerned that I might have to wean to conceive or if I should give it a few cycles. Anyone else with similar experiences? Did you have to wean totally to get things back to normal or did it just take a few cycles for things to normalize?

TIA!

I think you will want to post it here...you might get more responses since this area can be pretty slow! Good luck!

Default breastfeeding and crazy cycles
Hey did everything work out for you? i have the same problem, my baby is 16 months and I only got my period for the first time post partum after 13 months. I realized since i was breastfeeding my periods were haywire. I want to conceive again now but i am not sure if i am ovulating. i am weaning my baby now just so i can get my body back to being regular to conceive again.

I night weaned our son at 16 months and a week later, he self-weaned during the day. I got my cycles back to regular after 2 cycles. I got pregnant on my third cycle but that unfortunately ended in miscarriage 6 weeks ago but we'll be trying again this next cycle.

I never got my cycles to normalize while breastfeeding, unfortunately, so I had to totally wean to start ovulating again.

Best of luck to you!

I'm really sorry about your miscarriage. At least you have your cycle in order so you can definitely try again.
I have just weaned my baby completely (six days and counting) so we are going to try this month. I am not raising my expectations coz i probably need a few cycles to even get there. Anyway..
All the best for everything!

I got pregnant with 2 of my 3 kids while breastfeeding so it is possible. I know that my cycles were very off while I was breastfeeding but I did get pregnant none the less. (my cycles would last for about 60 days and I was ov at about day 46)
