Thumbs up * Baby Shopping while TTC - do you or don't you? *

I'm officially joining TTC group
(unofficially ttc since few months but don't want to concentrate on that frustrating aspect quite yet)

Since we all like nice things and shopping is no stranger to us I was wondering if you're shopping for baby stuff already while TTC?

Some think it's bad luck... I believe in good karma and so I occasionally do buy little baby things. It puts a smile on my face and brightens my day, plus I feel like I'm sending good vibes into the universe and letting my baby-to-be know (wherever it is lol) that there's a lot of love (and cute things) awaiting for her/him - a little bribe so it hurries up down here I know it's a little silly theory but it makes me happy and helps me through this not easy time.

Anyone else getting cute little baby things already?

As always, pictures are more than welcome! I'll be posting mine soon.

I personally will wait till I pass my first Trimester before doing any baby shopping. :)

I used to wait... but after half a year I had to do sth to keep up positive attitude lol And in my case this helps... puts a little smile on my face
Maybe if I've been ttc for longer time I wouldn't want any baby things around... I don't know... For now I love looking at them and imagining how cute they'll look on actual baby And what I won't need (since I buy both blue and pink) I'll sell later.

Here are my D&G baby sets. I think they are soooo adorable
I gave one to my BFF who recently gave birth to a little girl and she loved it; I can't wait to see IRL pics!

Btw, I wouldn't expect to be criticized on this forum for buying designer baby things but just in case and before a controversial discussion starts - I get everything on SALE with BIG discounts so pls don't make me feel guilty
And I don't buy only designer stuff either; if I see sth without a 'label' but like it and it's high quality, I'd buy it too

Cute! I only bought two things when I was TTC, because they were such a great deal I couldn't pass them up -- a TSE hooded sleepsack-type thing, and a matching blanket. They're so soft and gorgeous and were like 90% off. I sort of got them for a friend but kept them for myself because I loved them so much. Otherwise, I waited until I was in my third trimester to buy anything, but I'm really superstitious. We didn't talk about names at all until 3rd trimester either.

Congrats on 90% off!
I also once bought sth for a friend's baby and ended up keeping it myself...

Oh Baby Names! That's almost like shopping... but FREE! lol
Hmmm... I haven't heard about 'not talking / choosing' baby names until a certain point in pregnancy... Well, too late for us now LOL My DH already has chosen two names for a girl... I don't agree with either one so there'll be some hard negotiations lol But I'll wait until I'm pregnant - nobody refuses a pregnant woman, right?

the DH has selected basketball items. Its endearing yet heartbreaking. I tell him to wait but he can't help himself. He says he's excited to be a dad and can't wait teach them to play.

When I pass by the baby section at the stores its nice to look at and daydream, but I can't allow myself that.. not yet.

CUUUUUUTE bag! ^^

I didnt really buy anything until last weekend. I was sooo afraid I would jinx it!
But, I did buy an adorable stuffed lamb that kinda looks like lambchop when we went to Ireland last year....but only because I could just imagine a 2 year old carrying that limp stuffed animal around because he/she loved it so! But thats the only thing I bought when we were TTC.
I bought 2 sets of onesies already, and DH got mad because one of the sets is blue and he's afraid I jinxed us and we'll have a girl. LOL. But, I had to buy it! It was ON SALE!

i've started to buy little things already and i'm 9 weeks (approx, first U/S on wednesday)...a little early I know but i just cant help it.

I think it can only be bad karma if you believe in that. If you think its sending good vibes to the universe then it is!

I keep looking at markaonline.com and wanting that diaper bag soooooooooooo badly I might cave at some point ... but... I have been ttc for 2 years so why bother?

When I FIRST started - I mean the 1st month we started, I thought for sure I would get pregnant right away, what a laugh. I bought a panda bear, a John Lennon for Carters baby blanket, and , ahem, a STROLLER. My mom went off on me that it was bad luck. That stroller is wrapped in glad bags on my terrace, ridiculous. I big reminder of me and my bad judgement calls.

That's great that your DH is excited already! Sounds like he's going to be one fantastic dad!
My DH is a huge fan of Formula1 and is already planning on teaching our baby to race lol He says it won't matter if it's a boy or a girl; actually even better if a girl bc she'd be the first female Formula1 driver... yeah, right I couldn't help myself and checked couple of their baby things and how adorable! Though seriously I hope this is not the career path our baby will choose...

Sending baby wishes to you and your hubby!!!

cascratchfever, Korilynn, Elvawith -> Congratulations on your pregnancies and all THE BEST wishes!!!

I bet you already have tons of books but just in case here's a thread I just started about Planners:

** Your Favorite PREGNANCY Planner / Organizer / Journal / Diary... **

cascratchfever - what a cute diaper bag! I'm eyeing couple myself but will wait with this purchase too until I'm 2-3 months prego.

Korilynn - stuffed lamb sounds adorable! lambs and bunnies are my favorite themes tell your DH that it’s too late now to jinx boy/girl thing, what’s done is done already and there is no way back lol

Elvawith - hope U/S was all good and thank you for my 'theory' support

So sorry to hear that it's taking so long... I bet after 2 years even I wouldn't look at baby things anymore... Maybe sell the stroller so it doesn't bother you anymore... I'm sending ALL THE BEST wishes your way! (I know it's not much and maybe doesn't mean anything at this point but just know that there's one more person who keeps her fingers crossed for you).

Awww Duranie. Don't be so hard on yourself. Its not a bad judgement call, its just you being hopeful, that's a good thing and baby dust will come your way soon
