Default Anyone else doing fertility treatments now/near future? Let's talk!
if you're going through fertility treatments (or have already done it) and want to share your experiences, frustrations, etc, please do so! i would love to chat with others who are going through the same thing or have experiences and advice to share!

i went to shady grove (fertility clinic) a few months ago and we have a treatment plan...everything is going to start once my cycle begins.

my last Day One was July 19th so i'm obviously late, but am 99.99% sure i'm not pregnant. if i don't start the cycle by wednesday (9/2), then i'll go in a for a provera screening (ultrasound and blood work to determine i'm DEFINITELY not pregnant). then i'll start provera which will induce my cycle.

Day 3 = ultrasound (already had Day 3 blood work done before)
Between Days 5-10 = HSG (will schedule my husband's SA for the same day)

Then my next cycle, I'll start Clomid w/Ovidrel & progesterone!

We also have some other blood work to have completed before i start clomid.

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed but i know i just need to take this one day/one appt at a time!

Hi Dawn,

I am cycle day 7 and clomid day 3. I will go in on Sunday for my sonogram and then start doing blood tests every day until I ovulate.

This is my first cycle with drugs and I too am feeling a big overwhelmed. I am just trying to focus on one day at a time. I am so glad you started this thread and I look forward to going on this journey together.

Best of luck to you!!

We did our first round of clomid 3 months ago (and we're doing some alternative things too), and I got pregnant on the first cycle but miscarried shortly thereafter. Waited a month, and we did another round of clomid in July, and just got the U/S confirmation that all is well today. We had positve hcg tests for 3 weeks already, but my u/s last week showed a bean-shaped sac and they could not find the heartbeat (so we were thinking that we had yet another blighted ovum), and I went in today for a followup because my progesterone was great but my hcg was only going up by 67% - and they couldn't find anything on the machine in the doctors office but sent me down the street to an imaging center and the tech was able to find the heartbeat (YEAH! ) and measured everything to be 4 days behind where we thought we were.

It has been an emotional rollercoaster today (all week in fact) - I am so ready for work to be done so I can go home and crash. I am just hoping and praying that things work out well with this bean. I've had one stillbirth and two miscarriages in the past year and a half and I can't take any more.

mir - best wishes to your lil' bean! i'm so sorry for your losses - you've been through so much!
i had a mc in february, which proved to be 1000x harder than i thought it would be. it was the worst thing i've ever been through but i'm glad that i know i can at least get pregnant (i have pcos).
i'm sure it's such a rollercoaster but please try not to stress out - please feel free to vent to us!

Oh Mir, You are in my thoughts!! You have been through so much. I hope that you get some much needed rest this weekend.

Dawn, I am a pretty emotional person too and I am super sensitive to medication....BC causes me to have severe migraines and panic attacks so I was really worried about Clomid. I am on day 3 and honestly I haven't been too emotional at all. Last night I was pretty weepy but I think that could have more to do with just work/life stress and not really the medication. One thing I have been trying to do while I have been taking Provera and Clomid is too limit my sugar, dairy, and gluten intake. Watching my diet usually keeps my emotions in check.
I was also told to take Clomid at night and that would help with side effects.

What day are you starting Clomid?

i won't start clomid until next cycle...prob mid/late October since it looks like this cycle is going to have to be induced
start induction on 9/4
induction for 10 days = 9/14
start cycle hopefully between 9/15-9/20
so yeah, mid-late october

thanks for sharing your experience w/clomid. i hope it continues to be okay for you!

I did not treat with Clomid or other kind of medication. Because my hormone came out normal and I am able to ovulate regularly. I did HSG test on March and thing is not blockage. My DH has vericoceles due to his sperms and related number shows lower than everage. He went to urologist and finally he did surgery yesterday. Hopefully I will get pregnant within 6 months after this. If his SA test improve I may try IUI as soon his we find out.

We tried to do IUI, but had to stop because I got overstimulated, and my stradiol level was like 1600 on day 9, so we stopped, and mu doctor said that I will be a good candidate for IVF. We are planning to start IVF process on November. I am thinking, may be this last cycle before IVF will be lucky?!
Anyway, good luck to you, girls! Hope for good news soon!

I had my CD 10 Sono this morning. I had several Follies on the right and one or two on the left but nothing measured over a 4. So I was a little disappointed but the nurse said it might just be too early since I just took my last dosage of clomid last night. I am going back for another Sono on Thursday morning. Just saying lots of prayers until then.

To answer the clomid question, my OB told me that they usually start people on Day 3. They reserve Day 5 starts for people with strong luteal phase issues.

Mir,

Thanks for the info...I was surprised they let me start on Day 5. I was out of town and couldn't start on day 3.
