I'm hearing rumors that he contacted her. This is such a sad and scary story! I keep waiting for them to capture him. She was so young and with such promise-he needs to pay!

so did they arrest the tech? i read somewhere that they dont even have a suspect. this is just sad. why did they have to find her on her wedding day? she looked so happy in her wedding pic. & they were going to be in greece for their honeymoon too. also she worked, studied so hard & didn't even get to enjoy her achievement.

Whoever the suspect is. He is not supposed to be a stranger but someone she talked to. I don't know though-anytime a news source says one thing they take it back later. It is very frustrating for me, I can't imagine how her family feels!

I think he had it long planned and was just waiting for the right opportunity and when the Prof cancelled the class -she was in the building and so was he-so he called her to come down and attacked her while the basement was virtually empty. I wish they would announce an arrest-I am sure if he cleaned up the knife or whatever weapon caused blood that he might have thought to cut her fingernails or dip them in some chemical solution to eliminate the DNA but who knows-Just wish they would arrest the guilty person!!!!!

I am seriously starting to wonder if we have just become a Society of Instant Gratification that people take what they want regardless of if they can afford it up to a human life becasue they get a moment of satisfaction for it-I don't know but something is very evil between the way children are snatched and women are murdered-My Dh gets upset when I watch the news but everytime I hear of a tragedy like this I say to him"Oh,What did the news just say? A man was kidnapped and raped????? Rarely-usually a woman or a child and I am going to go get a concealed weapons permit for my gun and maybe we all should and maybe if a few crazy obsessed selfish Aholes get shot during an abduction-they would back off from thinking that we are easy prey!!!!!

I need to just not watch/listen to the news but it is everywhere and I am tired of being afraid of every elevator and service person I have to let into the house-it seems like even though they will get caught-they do it anyway!

Sorry to rant-It is just so awful to see another life taken in vain!

I completely feel you. It's so scary because Annie (from pictures) seemed so unassuming and low-key. It's obvious that her education was her life and she probably did the same thing every day: Class, library, lab, home, class, library, lab, home...yet one day someone saw her enough that he decided he would take her life. This could be a reality for women anywhere and everywhere, AT ANY TIME. It's SO, SO scary and makes me sick to my stomach that this happens more often than what is reported in the news.

Every single day of life is truly a gift. I wish the world wasn't so screwed up.

I know- We are going up to an auction for a condo in the city this Sunday and it gives me the willies becasue the building is only 30% occupied-so I am wondering -am I going to be afraid if I am the only one on the floor or in the elevator and all of the construction workers around and I feel neurotic for thinking it but she was very aware and tried to watch her surroundings and in the end if someone stronger wants you-they can take you-just does not make me feel very confident/safe moving through the world even during the day in places that are not populated with tons of people.

Yale lab technician eyed in slaying

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut — Yale lab technician Raymond Clark, 24, has emerged as a person of interest in the probe into the sensational slaying of brilliant university grad student Annie Le, sources said today.

Cops descended on the apartment building in which he lives with his girlfriend in Middletown, Conn., about 20 miles outside of the university campus in New Haven, keeping it under surveillance and pulling over cars arriving and leaving, questioning drivers.
Earlier in the day, police officials said an arrest was "not imminent" in the case. But a state official later said authorities have a "person of interest" but they do not have a suspect in custody.

A source close to Clark’s family confirmed to The Post that he was the person who failed a polygraph test administered by authorities and that he also was the one with scratches on his chest — two key points that law-enforcement sources have made about one person they are looking at.

"He did not pass the polygraph test. ... But of course, they don’t always run true anway, especially when you’re nerved up asking so many questions," the source said.

The source added that, "Of course, he had scratches on his arm — from his cat."

The source said Clark, who the family calls "Ray Ray," had been working at the university building that morning along with his sister and her husband, who also are lab technicians. Clark’s girlfriend is a lab techie as well.

"But [Le] left the area before he left that morning," the source said.

"He’d seen her and said hi and kept on going. ... He really didn’t know her."

The family "is very upset," the family source added.

"I know he didn’t do it, but I can’t understand how anybody would do that in the first place and put her in the wall like that. And they would have had to do it at night because certainly nobody could have done it during the day when everybody was looking."

The source added that Clark was engaged.

"They are saving to get married," the person said.

Le’s body was found over the weekend in a chute filled with cables in the basement of the building, where she was conducting experiments in the lab.

She was last seen Tuesday morning.

Le was supposed to have been married Sunday to a Columbia University graduate student on Long Island.

What are the chances he might have known her from the town they both lived in 4 years ago? Also interesting that he was "SAVING TO GET MARRIED" maybe he was jealous that she could have her American Dream Like Wedding while he struggled away on a tech salary. I disagree when the friend/source says the body would have to have been hidden at night-maybe it was hidden in the few minutes that everyone was exiting the building during the fire alarm-it would not take but minutes to take a waif of a girl and pull out a ladder or carry her to a hidden area.

i am local and heard the same thing. maybe I read/watch too many crime stories, but this investigation seems to have proceeded at a snail's pace - given that there were video cams all around and security into the bldg. was limited.
the anguish for her loved ones must be inimaginable.
