Nope, this may be the full story. There may have been an argument from the DUI incident between him and his girlfriend. I would be surprised if the wife was involved. The girlfriend gets a 40K car after a few months of dating. No, I think they were dating longer. Sounds like Steve kept a place in TN. RIP and condolences to the family.
