this is the most disturbing news i've read in a while. disgusting! some people should NOT have children, and if they by chance get pregnant, adoption may be the best option if they are not willing to care properly for their offspring..

I just watched this on FOX News.... grown men w/ the Sheriff's Dept who found her.. trying to hold a press conference, and unable to even get thru it for the tears of relief running down their faces.
Maternal grandmother drove 14 hours to see this baby today, but says "Momma was manipulated and would not harm her child".....
Well... story is that Momma gave baby Shannon to Aunt/babysitter, and Aunt put her in a cedar box under the bed. Aunt has been involved in PRIOR child abuse investigations AND her own child disappeared years ago! These are some sick, evil women IMO.
There's going to be alot more to this story, I imagine.

I was just going to post this...what a couple of sick f#cks these women are.

The kid was missing five days, but spent the last 12 hours of that time in the box, hidden under the bed behind a bunch of stuff. They even put baking soda in the box, for the smell. They should be stuff in boxes themselves...for days.

I've been wondering about this baby since the first photos came out...her face, her eyes...no expression ever.

the babysitter tried to get custody saying that shannon was beaten, and the parents smoked weed in front of her.. but she's abused as well.. such a weird story. i'm sure more will come of it in the next few days.

shannon is ADORABLE.i want her.

She's beautiful... but her eyes are blank.. which scares the hell out of me. We will likely never know what all has happened to this baby.

I'm glad they found her, I do hope that they will place her in a good family.
this sweet child will need a lot of caring and love... to get the warmth back in her eyes....

I just don't understand this case AT ALL. And why was Baker's previous 10 year sentence suspended after less than three months? Undortunately, case after case demonstrates that people can literally get away with murder provided the victim is a child. I shudder to think what might have happened had investigators not found this poor little girl. I'd like to hope that she will not be returned to her parents and babysitter and abused further, but they rarely take children away, even from obviously abusive parents.

OMG, I didn't know all of the details about this. I can't even begin to express the pain I feel for this little baby. These people who harmed her should be made to suffer.... continuously.... painfully.... what they have done is unforgiveable.

what a shame sounds like they were both conspiring to do something to this child why drop her at the sitters and report her missing? very sad, i hope this child is adopted into a family that will love her.
