Someone help me with this curiosity. Treesje is available in more department stores than RM (a lot more from my observation). But obviously RM is more popular here on TPF.just by looking at the # of people viewing the sub-forum. RM has a least 10 times more than Treesje. why is that?

She's got a winning formula that's for sure. It's easy to pick at least one of her key bag styles and collect it in a rainbow of colors and she's very active on the forum with her sample sales, online sample sales and special orders. I could be wrong but I think this is why.

I see many ppl associate RM w/ Tressje. Why? Is Tressje a sister Rm line?

^ No, Treesje and RM have no relation. There tends to be a lot of overlap in fan bases for mid-range designers, though, so that might be why.
As for the original question, I think Treesje as a subforum is still possibly too new to garner much activity. RM's subforum certainly has help in attracting people with tPB's posts on the brand as well, whereas Treesje hasn't been featured as frequently (although a few more Treesje posts have popped up of late on tPB/tPBsavvy). Certainly, the frequency of sales on RM helps a lot in attracting attention as well. Treesje doesn't seem to hold as many sample sales or online sales, so bargain-hunters may not always come by to check out the brand either. |

I agree with everything Starkfan just said.
I'd also like to add that I think RM is more appealing to the masses. The designs are very simple and straight forward whereas Treesje has more complicated designs that may not appeal to people right away. Don't get me wrong I love them both but I think everyone who likes a simple Nikki hobo may not want an Asher that has braids, pleats and now studs too. I am hoping that more people flock to this subforum after the new F/W line comes out. I think Treesje has some WONDERFUL bags and a lot to offer

I think LR hit the nail on the head. Treesje is an acquired taste. I flirted with buying one 2 years ago but didn't care for the Luna Hobo so I sold it. I looked at other styles but only after I looked several or more times did I start to see an appeal. Now that I know the leather is awesome and Quality is good I am sold on these sometimes funky bags. Treesje has an edge not everyone likes. But this Fall there seems to be a bag for alot of different tastes. It's going to take some time.

I think there are a lot of lurkers in this subforum (like me). I like treesje's styles, just waiting for the "right" one in the "right" color.

Both styles of designers are different. I like both designers but I will say Treesje's leather has a nice gloss polish to it too. Treesje bags and clutches tend to be are very durable yet edgy. I don't see a lot of Treesje in Boston or RM but definitely more RM in Boston area now.

I agree with a lot of what you all have said. Treesje was just added to tPF fairly recently, so there is going to be a viewer-curve when it comes to that. At the same time, while RM bags are talked about a little more frequently, Treesje bags are making their way up the ladder.
When it comes to some of the newer/more contemporary designers, I think the celeb influence is a huge help. Treesje bags are being spotted on countless celebs and I am sure other tPFers will begin to want to know more about this amazing brand. Personally, I am a huge fan and can't wait for others to join the Treesje bandwagon!

A year ago I saw a woman on the train carrying a beautiful blue bag with braided handles and pleats on the front. I was straining to read the name plate on the side from 8 feet away but I made out "Treesje" which I never heard of and looked it up later. It turned out to be the Asher. This line definitely was not as popular back then. However, Luna Boston has always carried it, since then I would always look for it online or in stores to see other styles. I was so happy when Treesje got its own subforum but even then I've only lurked.
The Asher is still is one of the few bags I love. I'm not crazy about the ruffles which many of the bags have. Like many of you have said before the styles might not appeal to everyone, but I am definitely looking forward to the fall line, especially with the arrival of the Mini Asher. I appreciate the detailing on the bags even if I don't particularly like it and the leather always looks divine. I love how rich and saturated the colors look too. I've been seeing it a lot more in stores now as well so I think in time TPFers will start to wander in.

The only place I've ever seen Treesje is on TPF. I would love to see it IRL at my Nordie's, but no luck yet. I think that the Anniversary Sale will boost Treesje's popularity. I didn't know about Tulah Ray last year until the Anniversary Sale, and I think that boosted the popularity of that bag also.

I love the Magnolia!! I have yet to see it IRL though. Nobody around me sells Treesje let alone have even heard of it.
I do agree that Treesje's designs are a bit more "specific" in the sense that it's not your "plain white tee" purse like RM's bags and that's probably why they don't appeal to as many people. That being said, I'm sure that Treesje will grow in popularity, I've seen a lot of celebrities wearing it, and fashionable ones at that. |
