Minneapolis/Mall of America PF Meeting!!!

Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's have a decent selection of handbags, I would suggest stopping at those stores for sure.

If I remember correctly, Gaviidae Common (Neiman, Off Fifth) closes at 6pm on Saturday... and Macy's closes at 8pm, although I'm not sure if the LV boutique in Macy's closes earlier or at the same time. It's been awhile since the last time stopped by. The schedule looks good, if we can stay on track... lol. I think it'll work out well!

The schedule sounds great!
The only thing I noticed was the 1/2 hour time frame for lunch and the CCafe is super busy on Saturdays, but we may get lucky or we could try next door: the food court.

^^ Should we either meet earlier for lunch, say 11:30 or just plan on the food court rather than the Cal cafe? We also could meet up at noon, shop a bit first then eat before we take the light rail dt. We could:

meet at 12:00
shop 12:00-3:00
eat 3:00-3:30 or sooner if we are starving to death!
light rail 3:30ish-4:00
shop dt

Opinions? Meet earlier (11:30) to eat or eat later?

I was really looking forward to meeting some PFers -- but my meeting just got changed and I'll be there next week instead of this date.

I may just make a drive up for the day though.....!

Didn't realize the outlet was so close to Mpls! I may make a trip there, too! Is it a nice outlet - do they carry signature items?

NM closes @ 6pm
Saks closes @ 7pm
Macys + LV closes @ 8pm so that could be our order in which we visit the stores.

Lunch L8r @ 3-3:30 ish souynds good to me.
Cuz California Cafe is kinda pricey so we might want to find somwhere else chepaer to eat so we have more $ for LV Coach and sutff.

^^^Oh I agree! Maybe people can have an early lunch, meet, then shop and grab a bit later around the time you mentioned. Macy's downtown has 2 restaurants and deli/food court area, plus NM, Off 5th, etc. are surrounded by restaurants in Nicollet Mall. I do think CCafe is a bit pricey...their weekday lunch menu is Ok, but weekends and dinner are pricey.

Unfortunately they're not an outlet that regularly carries signature items. Boo!!!

Btw, had this crazy idea of everyone bringing a unique purse/brand, and then doing a group shot of bags afterwards:) What does everyone think?

If there are no objections, why don't we go ahead and meet at 12:00 like we originally said then let's plan on eating later in the afternoon. We'll not have crowds to contend with then. We can decide that day where to eat, if that's OK with everyone. Is it possible to meet near the light rail station at the MOA? I think I noticed that was at the East parking lot? Then those of us who come back from DT won't have far to go to get to our cars that evening. Does that make sense? I will be sure to post when time gets closer with all the details again so that we are all clear on where to meet etc.

Any objections?

You should definitely stop at Nordstrom to see Chanel! The Saks in DT is an Off 5th outlet - they don't usually have a big selection of bags. I'd stick to NM and Macy's. I live downtown, so I may just meet y'all there. And if you're running long at the MOA, it really isn't that hard to drive to downtown - you can park right in the Macy's garage.

^ i'll have to agree... Off 5th does not usually have the best selection of handbags... i have found great deals on shoes in the past, though!

tlloveshim, you're correct... the transit station is on the East side (underground)... just remember that the east side is by the rotunda, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, etc. on the first floor.

btw, i did take the light rail last week from downtown to MOA... it took roughly 37 min., but one of the stations is closed for construction (Lindbergh terminal station, i think?), so they zoom right past that one. but normally, it's a 40 min. ride. so that'll give everyone plenty of time to chit chat, and the ride will go fast.

^^I think that's a tPF tradition. I went to one meeting in D.C. when I went home to visit the folks and we all had our favorite purses and took pics with them. I noticed with some groups they didn't want to show their faces so they jsut did a group shot with the bags. Either way is fine with me. Now it's just deciding which one to bring.....
