I've been waiting for the next get together since I had just missed the last one. I am fairly new to the Charlotte area and would love to join!

The Gucci is on the corner of King St. and something else. Can't remember the name. When you enter the Gucci from King St, there are a couple of little shops in this building. Godiva Chocolates is the only one I can remember. LOL

Not sure where the LV is going. My son just said that he saw a sign that it was coming.

I remember a LaCoste, Steve Madden, Lucky Store and I can't remember the rest of them. There are several little cafe's to eat at. I know they still do the carriage rides downtown. Although, it seems like it rains everytime I go there and the humidity is about 200%. LOL
You remember a lot abut Charleston! I haven't been there in about 4 yrs. ITA on the humidity--it may actually be worse that our little corner of NC. When my sister and I were there it was late Spring and we carried the hotel washcloths with us to keep wiping the perspiration off. Took a harbor cruise and it was hot out on the water! You'd think it'd at least be cooler out on a boat. Beautiful city, though.

Cathryn, I hope you are able to come. I'd love to meet you!

That's horrible! I think I would die without Target

I'll be just getting back from NYC so I'll probably sit this one out on account of being broke, but can't wait to see what you guys get!

I AM, L.! Their designers are so good and every Target I've been in has been well-lighted, clean, pleasant, etc. A friend here and I joke about it all the time--If we only had a Target.

If you're going to NYC/shopping central, you may have some cool things to show us. Have fun--sounds like it's about a month away. Weather should be comfortable then. We'll miss you--I'll miss seeing your latest bag (usually Bbag), but we'll miss your company too.

Absolutely, K! Great Target team members make for a great store. So everyone think positive thoughts about little Brunswick County, NC, getting a Target of our very own.

K, look for a cheap airfare. We'd love to have you there!

Boxermom, don't feel too bad about Target, we don't have one in San Francisco either! I do miss having one for the basics.
Your get together sounds like a blast-

I can feel some sympathy for you, C. I noticed there aren't even many regular grocery stores in SF. But you do have all that other wonderful retail. Sometimes you just need a basic store and don't want to spend more than the minimum, KWIM?

Yes, the Charlotte group is a nice bunch of people. Prada Psycho is our leader since she's the long-time local.

King and Market or Market and Meeting. It is in the lobby of the Charleston Place Hotel. They have an Anne Fontaine, Tommy Bahama, St John. Bob Ellis is down King st. That is the saddest little Saks I have ever seen in my life. LV is probably going on King. They kicked the Coach outlet off and out to the burbs. I can't imagine it going in Charleston Place with Gucci there as well, unless it goes on the Market street side.

We went to Charleston earlier this summer with another couple who had never been. The other DH drove and was upset because he forgot his GPS. My DH laughed and told him the GPS was sitting in the backseat, ME.

No, you need to come to MY house to eat Godivas. I went crazy during their 50% off sale. I have SIX BIG BOXES of Godivas!! Four in the freezer two in the fridge.

There goes what's left of the waistline!

You must be like my sister. She has a GPS in her head. I've never seen her get lost anywhere in the world. When she and I visited Charleston, it had been 6-7 yrs. since she'd been there. She drove from the airport to the hotel, navigating all those one-way streets with no map. Geez, I envy people like you. I have NO sense of direction.

PP, In addition to the Godiva store in SouthPark, there should be a Godiva outlet somewhere nearby. I'd be willing to eat the less-than perfect truffles.

They make Godiva in the Campbell soup plant about 20 miles from where I live. But you have to know someone and have a secret handshake to get someone to go buy the seconds. I am not kidding. Godiva made at the Campbell soup plant.
