I've had a few wonderful teachers -- all the way up through university.
The first really special teacher that I encountered was Mr. Saffer. He had an exciting kind of charisma about him. He used to spend a good portion of his class time "telling stories" -- and these would be stories that completely gripped the class, though they involved the teacher's own experiences and life. Of course, these stories always ended up relating directly to the lesson at hand. I remember that our group was always almost mesmerized by him! He taught us in grades 5, 6 and 7 and his curriculum was fun and always challenging. He brought Shakespeare into the classroom, in grade 5 and was a big proponent of poetry. He also pioneered interesting educational ideas and sometimes videotaped our classes, to use them in workshops that he gave to other teachers. |

Mr. Nugroho at Junior high. He told me lots of things besides the lecture; lessons of life. Thank you very much, Sir.

Mrs. Peddle was my first grade teacher. She was a grandmotherly type of lady and wonderful. I entered first grade not knowing how to read at all and not only learned to read very well (I still remember sitting in a reading circle on those tiny chairs), reading is now my favorite thing to do. I had other great teachers but Mrs. Peddle will always be #1.

Mrs. Cohen was my first grade teacher. It may seem strange to rember a teacher at such a young age. We moved to a new town and a new school and she was so loving and accepting of a shy little girl. I rember her kindness and love and I saw her all throught elmentary school and she was they type of teacher who would talk, give a hug and a smile. She was a teacher who was born to teach. To this day I remember her.

Sr. Rose was my kindgergarten teacher and I think she really gave me a great start at school. She nudged me into taking on big roles in plays and was trying to get me to be a better speaker at such a young age. Very nurturing and a very sweet lady. Very hard to forget such a teacher.

Miss Sharee Verdon, my ancient history teacher, is undoubtedly the most influential teacher I had and not only that - she is also the most influential person in my life after Mum.
All the pressures of my life took a toll on me in grade 10 and I was ready to take my own life. But it was through Miss Verdon's constant encouragement, praise and support that I realised my life was perhaps worth living. And she had no idea, because this is just how she is to everyone around her. She always seemed to think so highly of me and it was her comment on my first assignment in her class "you have a great academic future ahead of you" that made me think perhaps I really can do better than I was at school. It was her that made me realise my potential and it was joining her in the studies of philosophy and self-reflection, that has made me who I am today. When someone you think so highly of in turn thinks highly of you - that can do very powerful things. To give you all an idea of her kindness, the only car of a struggling neighbour of Miss Verdon's broke down. So what did she do? She lent them her own car and instead rode a bicycle everywhere for six months. I couldn't believe how selfless she was. The one quote she always said that I'll always remember is this: "Being a first-rate version of yourself is better than a second-rate version of someone else." (I don't know the author sorry) And that's so, so true. Miss Verdon saved my life. I can't wait to publicly thank her in my wedding speech.

My eighth grade English teacher, Mrs. Pigg
, was generally complimentary about my work. I loved writing stories and poetry and English was my favorite subject. Once I wrote an assignment, a short story, that I was so proud of. I just knew my teacher would see my literary genius! To my dismay, she gave me a "C" instead of the "A+" I surely deserved. She wrote a note saying, in short, my story was incredibly well-written, articulate and interesting. She would however, like to know who actually wrote it. My mother just smiled and said "I think you've just received the highest compliment a teacher could give you." So, thank you Mrs. Pigg, for inspiring me to "wow" you even more. |

My favorite teacher was my physics teacher when I was in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade or something like that. He made learning fun. Unfortunately he died
I don't even remember his name anymore I'm afraid. |

Mr. Bergeron my Math and science teacher in gr.7. he was more of a freind than a teacher. he is just like one of us, he made the class fun and sanzzy yet we learn a lot too. He was there for you in your down times and great person to go to when troubled. He gives you awsome versions of how great life is, and so he was a great role model

Mrs. Woods, my seventh grade teacher for many reasons. She taught us the importance of treating others with respect and treated every student the same and cared about us all very much. She became very sick in the middle of my seventh grade year and he faith and strength never waivered. I look up to her to this day.
