Miss Lyon was my chorus teacher for highschool. She was inspiring. She took a small group of us to New York City to preform and gave us memories that will last a lifetime.

My favorite teacher was Mr. Burkel. He directed the choir, the orchestra and the school operetta - an amazing motivator and an amazing man. He passed away several years ago and now my hometown performing arts center is named after him.

Mr. Nolan, my six grade teacher. I really enjoyed school that year. He encouraged us to think outside the box and take on projects outside of text books and lessons. And I just personally really connected with him. He was a great person.

Mrs. Erskine, my 9th grade English teacher. She taught me to think in new ways and not look at things from just the surface.

Mrs. Brock, my middle school social studies teacher, was there for me at the hardest emotional time in my life, and respected my wishes about telling people about it. I will never forget her. I also learned more from her then any other teacher since.

My 10th grade creative writing teacher, Mr Amorossa. We'd walk into class and find a crazy topic on the board (like "Lips") and have to write all period about the topic. Great diversion from the other boring class work.

Mrs. Manns, my 8th grade religious education teacher, one day looked me steadily in the eye and said, "You will never learn if you keep on asking questions all the time." I put my hand down and told her she was wrong, angrily, defiantly. There are teachers who teach their students and teachers who reach their students. And there is no question that I learned something uncomfortably true. When I become a teacher one day, I hope that my students, too, will know to challenge dogmatism. Teachers and students should be on the same side when it comes to learning.

Mrs. Jorge Troja my "Psicofisiologia" teacher from my university. I never failed a class in my life till I met him. He'd always defeat me and dare me in front of everyone to said something againts his beliefs. One day he asked one by one of the studens ONE question and everyone gave him the answer he expected, what he wanted to hear but not the correct answer. I did gave him the right answer and I failed the class, I got my first F at 23 years old. lol.
The year after I registered in his class again. When he saw me among the students he said. "Oh, Miss Lopez, you are a brave one". I passed with C this time, lol.

Ms Karila, she was a realistic, cynical woman with very dry humour. Sort of like me...

My most influential teacher was Mr. Tully, my ninth grade English teacher. He was the teacher that made me want to teach English for the rest of my life. Years later, as a student teacher, I had the great fortune to be able to learn my craft from my role model, Mr. Tully.

Hi,
The most influential teacher in my life is Mrs. Krishnan, she is my mother and was my Biology and Chemistry teacher in high school. Through the years and ups and downs in my life she has been supportive, patient and has always had faith in me. With her experiences, wisdom and faith in my life I hope to spread as much goodwill as she has. Many of her students contact me now(she is retired) to tell me how much my mother meant to them as a teacher and I am lucky to have shared that experience with them. I love you mom. Janani Quote:

My 7th grade teacher Mr. Smith.
At a time when I was getting distracted from school and activities, he reeled me back in and I developed a love for reading, sports, and math! |

Mrs Farida, my Music (Organ) teacher. Besides being patient, helpful and everything else a teacher should, she was the main driving force for my parents to make the most important decision in my education life. Without her, I wont be what and where I am today

From age 3 through grade 6 i attended a Montessori School and nothing else in my life has effected me more. Mrs. Barshay was my teacher in 4-6th grade but was also the owner and originator. She was a hardass and we were all scared of her, but over the years i've come to realize she had a true gift. She was the most passionate teacher i've ever met and i will NEVER forget her. Shortly after i graduated she sold the school, and a year later it burned down. Utterly amazing woman.

Mine was a college instructor--Terry Tranter. He was extraordinarily challenging, and forced me to work harder than I thought I could. Through that I learned that I am tougher than I had given myself credit for.he also inspired me to go in to teaching!
