Dr. Christy Crutsinger, she is very talented, charming, and a hard worker. She assigns work that are truly enhances your experience, like researching on leather and cashmere then had us made a presentation to the managers at Nordstroms. Then our case study with her closely supervising it, we were invited to New York for a competition. My four years in college, I could only say she's the best!

Mr Krynski was my high-school English teacher and later became a friend of mine when I studied to become an English teacher myself. Thanks to his passion and great humor I developed a true love for the subject myself. I don't think I would be the same person if I hadn't met him. I still consider him my mentor in the subject. In 2002 when he died in a car accident I've lost a dear friend, but still every time I teach English I feel like a part of him and his passion lives on through me. I can only hope to become such an inspiration for some young person some day the way he was and still is for me...

Mr. Rice inspired me not only to read and write more but to become a teacher myself.

Dr. Rentschler taught me a criticism course toward the end of my undergraduate career. She was extremely intelligent but careful not to marginalize or intimidate her students. She wrote supportive, helpful comments on my papers that ultimately improved my writing. Most significantly, she encouraged me to pursue graduate school which has led to my current role as a college instructor.
Without her support, I know I wouldn't have had the courage to apply to graduate school in the first place. After being accepted to a strong ph.d program, she continued to mentor me through the duration of the completion of my masters degree. I've turned to her with questions about balancing relationship with career. She and her partner are both academics, similarly to my own relationship situation. My partner and I view her and her husband as inspirations that we hope to someday emulate when we are finished with our respective doctoral degrees. I am so glad I took her course and got to meet her. My life would have been so different if she hadn't been a part of it.

mr holcomb was my influential teacher! he started out as a gym and technology teacher, then segued into being the tech director for the district. he was also the tennis coach for our school so that is where i worked w/ him the most and i learned so much from him. he gave myself as well as other players so much support, and we left that team such better people. i could go on and on! in fact, he's been the topic of a few of my teaching class papers. i'm finishing up my teaching certificate right now!

Actually, I think the most influential person in my education was quite possibly a TA named Rachel. She was a great example of how someone could work, go to school, teach, date a musician (lots of bars and late late nights), and still be not only passionate about the subject but passionate about the students she worked with.
I have since also worked, taught, and dated a musician. and I hope I give my students the same kind of empathy and inspiration I got from her. ps - hi everybody!!! |

Mrs. Clemmer, my high school math teacher somehow made the most horrible class in the world (AP Calculus) into something somewhat enjoyable.

Mr Michael Entrekin, here in Georgia, meant so much to me. As I was going thru so many emotional family upheavals, this big man with the big heart, gave me a voice, by assigning his essays to our 7th grade English & Composition class.
And while the other students moaned & complained, I knew that I had my chance to make my escape onto paper & that my secrets were safe with him. Sadly, he died very young but he lives on in the heart of that young, troubled girl. Thank you 40 years later, Mr. Entrekin.

My mother is the most influential teacher of my life. She still teaches elementary school to this day and I feel blessed to to have such an intelligent, creative and selfless educator as my mother.

Most influential teacher is Miss Don, my art history teacher in high school . She taught me renaisance art and cubism. It was my 1st time learning and analysing art. It was a difficult paper but she helped me to stick all the pieces together. So a painting is not just a still image but worth an essay of stories. The knowledge of that year has made me determined to go visit italy and see the paintings! And she has also improved my essay skills - with extra padding..!

Mrs. Walker was my favorite teacher. She was my geometry teacher. I chose her because she told me I would not make it in life without the help of my parents and grandmother. I am the only child and I was my grandmother's favorite grandchild, but it was hard for me to understand why would a teacher tell a 10th grader that she will never make it in life without her parents help. So that day after, I told myself that I would not depend on anyone and I have not since then!

The most influential teacher in my life had to have been my AP English IV teacher in high school, Mrs. Barbara Roy. When I didn't have confidence in myself that I couldn't do it, she pushed me and helped me pick my head up high.

My most influential teacher was my violin teacher that taught me for 8 years until I graduated high school. She constantly motivated me to dream bigger and reach higher... without her I wouldn't be where I am right now in my life.

I have to say my DH
. He is not only a teacher and professor, but at the end of the day, he always inspires me to want to be a better person--just through his example. Even though he's been through his lot of tragedies at a very young age, he is the most big-hearted and positive person i have met. That's why I fell in love with him~ I've learned so much from his example!
