My First Tokidoki/LSS... finally!! ;_;

hi guys... i just got my very first LSS tokidoki (i know, it's about time, right? and i just have to share!! ^^

WARNING:: i am way excited and wrote out more of the story here than i really needed to! so if you don't wanna read my mad ravings, i suggest you get out while you can.... ^^;


I have always loved LSS bags, and I have a few that I've gotten on steep discount (IE for $3 at Goodwill... I love you, goodwill!!) but I didn't want to get my tokidoki at goodwill, i wanted a new one, ir possible... I decided that for my first (and possibly only) tokidoki bag, I wanted a Zucca in Spiaggia.... I needed a big bag, and I didn't want another messenger-type bag....plus I just love the Zucca shape.. I chose Spiaggia because I love bright colors, and I was afraid the Amore would get dirty too easily....plus, I really love the beach. :)
I watched ebay for awhile, but all the BIN were so ridiculously overpriced... and I didn't really have the patience to sit and wait for a cheap spiaggia with a placement i liked to actually show up....So I decided to just buy one at the store. Luckily, I live in Hawaii, so this was actually an option for me! ^^

I saved my money for a month, and FINALLY I was able to get it this weekend! XD I live near the Ala Moana store, so for the past month I went in a few times to see if they actually had a Spiaggia Zucca....and if they did, to check out the print placement! What I was looking for was 2 things: 1. the unicorn! I love unicorns... 2. The Girls, because I really like them. I'm not a big fan or Adios and CiaoCiao, or even Sandy....

The first time I went they had 1, with pretty bad print placement. The 3rd time I went, they had 2, the one with the bad print placement, and one with slightly better (you could at least see the unicorn on the front, although it was slightly cut off).

Finally, the last time I went, when I was actually ready to buy, I was worried that there wouldn't be one at all.... (Of course, if there wasn't, I was prepared to call up the other two stores, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to venture into waikiki on a friday night :P) So when I went into the store and straight to the Spiaggia/Notte display, I at first was scared because they had really scaled it back, and there was way less than before! But there was ONE zucca....and it wasn't either of the two I'd seen before! And believe it or not.....this one had PERFECT print placement for me!! I coudln't believe it....right on the front, the unicorn and the sitting girl...and on the back, perfect placement of the girl with surfboard! I was so happy! I immediately took it right to the register, not a second look!

They were pretty crowded (Friday night and all), and I was 3rd in line... One of the shop ladies (all very nice!) offered to get me one that was already wrapped up, but I was like "no thanks, I like this one!!" but then she saw it and was like "Oh wait, is that a zucca? That's the last one!!" And later on while I was STILL in line, another shop lady came over and said to the first one "Do we have any more of those?" about my bag, and she was like "Nope", and the 2nd lady went back to her customer and was all "i'm sorry...." So I was like OMG i'm so glad i got here today, or it woulda been gone...! ;__; what luck.......

Then to top it off, just after I was rung up, it was just then 8pm and the Waikiki fireworks started up, so I just turned around and walked 5 steps out to the parking lot and watched the fireworks, my new bag in hand!! ^___^

So yeah obviously I am pretty excited to have this bag... I don't normally buy things this expensive, as I'm on a pretty tight budget, so it's really special to me. ^^ I actually don't mind now that I had to pay so much for it at retail (I could have sworn that Zuccas were currently $220 in Hawaii, but when I was rung up it was $222 before tax...and later when I checked the price tag, the price sticker had been taken off, hmmmm) because I feel like it was worth it to not have to deal with eBay, to be able to get the bag brand new, and know it's authentic and in good condition, etc....and really, there's just something special about being able to walk in the LSS store pick out your bag, pay right there and walk out with it.... ^^;;; ..............or am i crazy?? ^_-

PS.... I wanted to do something to help motivate me while saving up the money for this bag, since I wanted to buy it RIGHT AWAY but really needed to wait and save up.....so since I'd recently started "working out" and it wasn't going so well, my BF suggested that I do push-ups and stomach crunches to "earn" the money..... So I "earned" 10cents for every set of 1 push up and 1 crunch that I did.......so yes, that means I did 2,200 push-ups and stomach crunches!!! >_< it took me 32 days.... But it was a great way to get myself to work out, and now i REALLY feel like I earned this purse! (ughh...)

However, now that I've got it......all my motivation for working out has gone right out the door... ^^ Guess that means it's time to start saving up for my NEXT toki bag.....

I happened to wander over here from the other forums, but I just wanted to say congratulations on you hard-earned bag!! And what a great idea to earn it!! I'm trying to get myself to work out more and I'm looking to get my first Gucci bag... I think I'll try your method so I'll really feel like I deserve it. It may take me a long while though. Thanks for the idea!! I'm glad I stumbled upon your post.
