Default keep/sell my tokidokis?
hello ladies,

this is my first time posting in tokidoki section, but i spent some time looking around and it was so helpful that i figured out what my bags were called.

i have two tokidoki for lesportsac bags from the fall 2006 season: they both have their qees and don't have any signs of wear at all b/c i was super paranoid with them.

i haven't used either one in almost two years, though, and i'm considering selling them. but i've never sold anything before, and i know there are many fakes, so i don't know if anyone would want to buy mine if i put them on ebay (if not ebay, can i sell anywhere else?). also, i don't know what reasonable prices (meaning that someone would readily pay) are for these particular prints/bag shapes.

should i just keep them? they are pretty cute, after all. (i just feel bad since they sit in a box in my closet, and since i'm only getting older and work in a professional setting, i'm not sure i could use them.)

Hi Manke & to the Tokidoki sub-forum!

In my opinion, the Tokidoki for LeSportsac collaboration print bags are more popular than the newer Tokidoki print bags Because they are limited editions and are not produced anymore, I'm fairly confident that you would have interest should you decide to sell them. However, because they are limited editions, if you regret selling them, it would be hard to reacquire the exact ones as no two bags have the same print placement.

If you decide to list your Tokidoki bags on eBay, the easiest way for you to authenticate the bags for potential buyers is to photograph the word "RIRI" that appears on the bottom of the zipper pull(s) or add an assurance to your listing that the word "RIRI" appears in this location. The fake Tokidoki bags don't have this

I believe that if you are not using a bag, it's best to part with it, either through selling it, donating it, gifting it, etc. I'm actively trying to streamline my collection and buy things I only absolutely and will use.

But whatever you do, just be 100% sure of your decision. Good luck & let us know what you decide!

Keep them. Gioco is a very popular style, but due to the bad economic situation your bags are unlikely to fetch good money you'd be kicking yourself when the economy picks up. Plus you'll never know whe you'll be able to tote them around in future you may not remain in the same job/field forever.

i think you should keep them because they will never be made again! you can carry them when you go out.

Just a reminder to all, there is no buying or selling on the forum - OP please let me know if you receive any messages to that effect.

I used to be way into tokidoki a few years ago, and went on a mad buying spree with the bags. For the past year or so I've been working on selling off my collection, and only keeping the ones I really really love, even if I don't use them all of the time.

If you really love your bags, then you should keep them. Or, hold onto them until you're in need of some cash. I've successfully sold almost all of the bags I've wanted to be rid of on eBay. The older patterns are more special, and you're pretty much guaranteed interest in any of the older prints you may happen to sell.

There are places you can research the original retail prices of the bags you bought, namely Tokidoki Blog. There's an archive there of all the past prints, with their dimensions and prices.

Good luck!

i thought i'd come back w/a little update:

thank you, ladies, for all your kind advice! you inspired me to take my citta rose canguro out--and use it at the gym for my ipod! i hate putting my ipod in armbands b/c my arm is too small (or maybe b/c it doesn't have a big enough bicep?) and they always fall down as i'm running. i was just holding my ipod in my hand and running, but sometimes all the wires would get tangled in my hands/arms and i'd send the ipod flying behind me onto the floor.

it's like falling in love again, plus i get so many compliments from both guys and girls at the gym.

(my citta gioco is still in my closet, so when i get my act together, i will try to find a new owner.)
