I got the bag from Loehmann's on sale. However, I was not sure if it supposed to retain its shape or not. Mine is so soft that it does not retain the box shape at all. If I did not try to put the bag into the retangular box shape, it would just fall down like a non-structure bag, which is not at all nice.

Does anyone know if the bag supposed to retain its box shape and stand to be like that wile carried?

the Stella McCartney bags are very very soft. that's just the nature of the material that they are made of. there was some discussion on another thread about buying liners for the bags, but i don't know anything about that. i'm assuming you are talking about a canteen bag? maybe one of the slouchier bags would be better--like the totes or the everyday bag? i think those are better designed.
