I stuffed it with dryer sheets last night and it already smells a lot better. I am going to keep working at it.

Put it in a container with some kitty litter. Just the regular kitty litter, not the clumping kind. Kitty litter is made to absorb odors. I wouldn't put the kitty litter directly on the bag, but maybe a plastic tote sealed up with a bowl of kitty litter and your bag inside might help.

I went to the UK last summer and it was so different with the ban in effect, it was nice!

That kitty litter idea is really interesting! I'm going to keep that in mind.
In the meantime, I was going to suggest Febreeze as well. Although, is Nylon dry-cleanable? |

Happy Update - the dryer sheets really worked! The smoke smell is gone and now the bag just smells like clean laundry.
Thanks for all the advice!

I got a tokidoki bag in the mail this week that also smells like smoke. I wish sellers would include that kind of information in their auctions!
I sprayed it with febreeze yesterday and it's been sitting outside, so hopefully that helped. I'll definitely go get some dryer sheets tonight and try that out.

Hanging it up for a few days should do the trick. I received a Toki bag from eBay several months ago that didn't have smoke smell, but smelled strongly of some kind of spice or food??? Anyway, it took about 2 weeks, but the smell finally went completely away on it's own.
