I'm not really fond of the new Tokidoki bags and I realize they broke away from Lesportsac, however, I was wondering what the differences were between the actual purses themselves? * Just for the event they come out with a print I do like in the future.*
Do they still have the little bungies with the carabiners on them? Is the material still the same? Does the Material difference change the ways we've found to clean them? How does it hold up? Why oh WHY are they not bringing back the mutlicolored zippers

? How do the new bags compare to the Lesportsac ones?

Are they going to make a Tokidoki forum since this is technically Tokidoki/Lesportsac?

TKDK-LSS bags (1st generation)
Nicer kiddie whimsical prints (IMO)
LSS ripstop material exterior
LSS cheapy nylon material interior
Rainbow zipper

TKDK 2nd generation (no longer with LSS)
Ripstop nylon exterior, larger weave vs generic LSS fabric
Microfiber interior in bright orange
Dark green leather trimmings (ugly IMO)
Rainbow zipper

TKDK 3rd generation
Lush microfiber exterior
More "adult" oriented prints less whimsical less detailed
Cotton lining interior in beige
Tan leather trimmings (classy IMO)
Gold zipper

TKDK 4th generation (current)
Cheaper nylon exterior
Gold zipper
Maybe someone can give insight to the interior I looked once and forgot now

You SCOTCHGUARD the material then nothing will stain/stick.
How does it hold up what do you mean? All of us don't pack the same things and don't treat bags the same. To me, LSS/Toki bags need some caring, I tend to be rough with my bags I've had these ripped although it's supposed to be "ripstop". Those who really take care of their bags will tell you these bags wear well.
As for gold/multi zippers you have to email Simone, he will reply you or get someone to.
There already is a forum www.tokidoki-blog.com that's the biggest and largest non-official fansite. This forum is also for LSS lovers. Chances are whoever loves TKDK will also cherish LSS they're both the same "type" of bags... I mean bags like Jimmy Choo is a class of its own. ;P

my matita has rainbow zips. i think the 4th generation are the current ones. pegaso, stella nera etc.

Where did you get it? Macy's online still has Leo in and it's rainbow, so are the ones at Loehmann's. Were there different runs?

yeah... from the 1st print (Carnival print) not collaborating with LSS up til the Geometric print, it has rainbow zipper.

From Mimiteca print and on, the material and zipper had changed.

i have a discoteca print (3rd gen?) and i am not as impressed with the different exterior lining and tan trimmings. The exterior is completely smooth and feels much weaker. The tan trimmings have gotten dirty already after 4 uses. My Vacanze stellina (still with lesportsac) looks perfect still and I abused the hell out of that bag.

Like most people here, I also like the Toki LSS bags better (esp the prints)....for some reason, the prints have gone down hill, and lately, so has the fabric and zippers.

I do have a Portafortuna, Matita Creativas (those fabrics are the same and they have feet, no carbarander, just hook) and another creativa with the LSS fabric with no feet and a carbarander. these bags are big! and I notice that the LSS fabric is much lighter than the others but the interior fabric of the non-LSS seems better than the LSS interior type fabric..i guess they all have their positives and negatives.

I also have the 1st gen bags. luv them the most cus the prints are so funky, and they are highly functional.

for some reason, the later bags with the green leather has grown on me. i thot they were icky in the pictures, but I have a celebrazione sorriso and i luv it, even with the green.

two weeks ago, i went to my local winners and i actually found, get this, a CITTA FUMO CAMPEGGIO BAG. yes, you heard right, a CitTA (first gen with the bear quee). now i dunno why, perhaps a reissue? were cittas even reissued? its real. I checked the riri zipper, and it has the writing on the front pocket "Tokidoki for Lss", right fabric, right tickets etc, even the carbarander. so i am wondering if anyone else has found 1st gen bags in any other winners? perhaps someone did a switchero or something. anywho, i am a happy girl.

as i said on another page, if they come out with a tokiXwonderwoman bag, i'll get it, otherwise, that's it for me.

PS. also the carbarander inside the bags have changed sizes...which ones and when, its too complex for me to get into, they've gotten smaller.

FORGOT TO ASK: so far i find Tide to Go pen works well on all the bags (LSS and non-LSS). I have not scotch guarded any of them, tho a few i wish i had, but i am wondering if THE NON-LSS FABRIC CAN BE SCOTCH GUARDED? thanks.

You can Scotchguard any fabric that's non-absorbant. Therefore materials like nylon and polyester, of which TKDK bags are made, are safe to Scotchguard. Cotton is not because it is absorbant. Basically Scotchguard just forms a waterproof layer on top of the material. Cotton will absorb the chemical coating rendering it useless.

Just NEVER Scotchguard a dirty bag. It will only make it worse. Make sure it is clean before applying.
