Hi!
I'm still new to TPF and this is my first post in the LeSportsac/Tokidoki section. Long story short, I swapped for this bag and have a feeling it's fake. (although I'd be thrilled to hear it's not) The zipper looks different than the bags I see on here - mine is like dip dyed where as the ones I see, each tine (sp?) of the zipper is a different color. More like my Dooney & Bourke It Bags. Also, there is no patch on the inside of the bag on the zipper compartment. I have already sent her an email saying that I'm not sure it's real. She says her cousin who "is into REAL designer bags" got it for "real cheap (sale) at a boutique". I just want to be sure that it is indeed fake before I request a reversal. Thanks so much in advance! I took 10 pics of the bags - first 5 are below, next 5 in the next post. |

Second set...
Also just wanted to say that this is/would have been my first LeSportsac/Tokidoki bag, so I apologize if it is so obviously fake. I should have done more research before hand. =/ |

lilsunshine I am new myself but looking at your pictures I believe your bag is fake. I may be wrong..but i'm 99.9% sure it's fake.
I did some research on this forum as well online on how to spot a fake bag.. I'm sorry to give you bad news...I would do a lot more research before buying another bag and making sure it's the real deal. |

Hi Salaninax!
It's ok, I think it's fake too. I don't own any LeSportsac/Tokidoki bags and when I saw it for swap I thought it looked kinda cool. I like multi-colored things and this was right up my alley! I'm going to wait for another response or two (no offense!), but if the consensus is that the bag is fake, I'm going to have to do a reversal. I'll be sad to see it go, but do not feel comfortable carrying a fake bag around - especially when I am so against buying them. =( Oh well, live and learn - so glad I found this site! Hopefully it never happens again! |

lilsunshine I would read up on the blog section on Tokidoki's website or just google how to spot a fake tokidoki and you will find a ton of sites to help you out. :)
I think there is also a section on the Tokidoki's website as well as this one that tells you of sellers on Ebay that sell real Tokies. |

lilsunshine. i am 100% sure the bag you posted is fake. you can find print reference picture on tokidoki's blog. people always use a LeSportsac print and add toki-look-alike hardware (rainbow zipper and qee) and claims them to be toki. the print on the bag is a real LeSportsac print by-the-way. it is called june bug if memory serves me right.

Salaninax - I went to the site you mentioned and it had loads of useful info. Thank you so much for telling me about it!
d1000 - Thank you for confirming what I was pretty sure of. I'm so sad, because I thought the bag was really cute, but cannot justify carrying around a fake. But, since you mentioned that the print was a real LeSportsac print, I think I'll search eBay to see if anyone has any *real* ones for sale. I just like rainbow/multi-colored things! =) Thank you so much to both of you as well as Auryn Falkor for your responses. Next time I'm thinking of buying a bag online or swapping for one, I'll be sure to ask here first! |

lilsunshine, d1000 is absolutely correct, your bag is a very bad fake. It's not a Toki or even a basic LeSportsac. That rainbow design on your zippers is usually a big red flag. The name of the print was "Junebug" and it was released in the classic LS line in February of 2007. If you search Ebay using the name of the print sometimes you can find one. Be careful even with regular "classic" LeSportsac, there are plenty of fakes of those too. |

Dear ladies, would appreciate if someone can help me to determine if the authentic Lakeside Lesportsac bag ever came with metal adjustable buckle and metal piece that is attached to the bag itself? The bag which I ordered from bags&bags sent me one with a metal adjustable buckle and I can see from Lesportsac online site that the classic hobo comes with plastic strap buckle and side plastic piece connecting to the bag. I also see this http://www.taschen-welt.de/LeSportsa...o-Lakeside.htm
Thanks in advance for any replies. |
