Who's Who Partaking in the Emmys Gift Suites

  1. Rebecca Gayheart

Hearts on Fire, together with the Environmental Media Association, assembled some of Hollywood's most eco-conscious vendors to celebrate Emmys season while raising awareness about green living. "I got some Kasil jeans!" said Rebecca Gayheart, who will attend Sunday's ceremony with her steamy husband, Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane. "They have all sorts of fun stuff here and I always find one thing that I end up loving." In addition to the denim, products from Cargo cosmetics, Chinese laundry and Peligrosa filled the gift bags, while Medi Spas and Warren Tricomi offered their services.

    Mario Lopez

Also at the Hearts on Fire "Green With Envi" suite—held at the posh Peninsula hotel—Mario Lopez took a test sit at the Vespa table. The Dancing With the Stars champ later won the retro-inspired scooter in a raffle. Stacy Keibler, Paula Abdul and Brooke Mueller went home with items from PJ Salvage pajamas, ECOBAGS and Porridge clothing.

    Becki Newton

Television talent flocked to Beverly Hills facialist Sonia Dakar's Skin Clinic for a pre-Emmy skin shape-up and to sample other beauty goodies. The face maven's popular spa was open to guests like Becki Newton and her Ugly Betty co-star Michael Urie for regular services as well as Emmy UltraLuxe facials, sunless tanning and private Pilates sessions.

    Molly Sims

Molly Sims also joined the VIP crowd at the Sonya Dakar Emmy lounge, where guests headed up to the rooftop terrace for cocktails—mixed with Monster Energy drinks and Tito's Handmade vodka—and treats from the Vanilla Bake Shop. The Las Vegas star admired the million-dollar CHI flat iron and Cecelia Accessories' carnelian-sutdded 22-karat gold starfish hair clips.

    Melora Hardin

The Office's Melora Hardin got a touch up when she dropped by the Billion Dollar Brows station at the Kari Feinstein Emmy Suite, held at a private residence in Beverly Hills. Seth Green, Kaley Cuoco and Olivia Wilde also stopped by to peruse the goods from Plain Mary, Reebok and the Chocolatebox Cafe.

    Cheryl Hines

The Presidential Suite of the Roosevelt hotel was a flurry of Emmy excitement as nominees and VIPs like Cheryl Hines made their way through more than $100,000 worth of freebies. The charity-minded organizers of the GBK Productions suite—which showcased items from Eco Baby, Karisma Resorts and Da Vinci veneers—will donate 20% of their proceeds to Clothes Off Our Back, Kevin Bacon's 6-Degrees Foundation, The Humane Society and the Harbour Foundation.

    Neil Patrick Harris

Emmy nominee Neil Patrick Harris stopped by Melanie Segal's annual Platinum Lounge in Beverly Hills. Harris also got his fair share of pre-ceremony pampering at the Lab Series Skincare for Men suite at the Sofitel hotel.

  3. ahh, one day i'll get invited to these things!

  4. ^^ Haha! I know! I would love to go to one of those things!

I would think the stars wouldn't be taking as many items because the IRS has said a couple years ago that the stars would have to declare the gifts on their tax returns.

They're worth so much they're considered taxable income.

  5. wow really? considered taxable income? i'm surprised that they wouldn't just consider them tax-exempt gifts?? ooh but you're right, there's a monetary limit to tax-exempt gifts too.

  6. Sidebar: I wonder if Neil Patrick Harris will bring a date tonight and I wonder who he'll be?

And The Swag Goes To… Make Hollywood Today your Emmy partner, updates throughout the awardcast.

    By Karen Loftus

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 9/15/07 –The Emmy gifting suites were declared a success this year despite worries that IRS rules that said major swag should be declared on tax returns.

Nominees and scenesters swept the rounds with gleeful abandon, getting day-spas, watches and footwear. Many A-listers had a suite tooth and stocked up on items from detergent (like Esai Morales in the photo) to coffee. Sponsors and suite hosts appeared happy with their media attention.
Reps from the Lippin Group, the official PR company behind the Emmy Awards said that celebs were taking a different approach to gifting in general and are opting for services, be it a hair cut or a massage and choosing to leave suites empty handed or with a hand lotion or shampoo bottle. Maybe for some stars, but not those in the suites that we were in. The swag was on and from the looks of it; no one appeared to be taxed by it. It was Disneyland for swag happy adults.
Here’s a peak of what went down and where and who got what.

    Ready For My Close Up
Sonya Dakar, the facialist to the stars hosted another pre-awards fete for her A-lister fans. McSteamy’s wife Rebecca Gayheart, Vegas’s own Molly Sims and E! TV’s dancing diva Samantha Harris popped in for some swag action. William Shatner enjoyed a mani, pedi with his wife at Spa Ritual. Reality divas Paula Abdul and Kathy Griffin could not get enough of the Cecelia python clutches and belts and Mekhi Phifer scooped up a Caribbean Escapes 5 star retreat to Belize for he and his fiancé. Every one was feeling the love and fitness from Sports Club LA and Earl’s Jaime Pressley got a PreEmmy UltraLuxe Facial, Red Light Collage Therapy & Oxygen Treatment. No wonder she’s glowing!

    The Silver Spooning
Silver Spoons, the reigning queens of swag have been serving up swag to the Hollywood Elite for years. Their suite was held at the posh Regent Beverly Wilshire, home of Julia Roberts happy hooker in Pretty Woman. Single, a clothing line, not a status statement, were slipping silky vintage inspired shift dresses on to pretty and preggers Constantine Zimmer and the no longer preggers Tori Spelling, a longtime Spooner. Our Hero Greg Grunberg was all over K Pak’s hair care and every wino in the room was happy to score Vinturi, which aerates your wine. That means you pour and go in for a quick sip. Makeup Forever, NiteWhite whitening and Thomas Fleming Body Scrubs are sure to keep Hollywood Silver Spoons a shining.

    The Green Theme
Three big themes in Hollywood are the Environment, Aids & Africa. Every celeb is ready to wrap themselves around any or all three causes. At this year’s Emmy suites, green was the new black, with green themed suites. Nobody does eco better than Nicole Landers with her green thumb. Her Green Living Lifestyle’s Lounge & Eco Spa resort was spot on. There was Pureology for follicles, Color Science for face, Origins for skin, Palm Beach Way Diet for body and Debra King for the spirit. Green Bliss, the go to Ecospa offered dreamy Ayurvedic facials and massages to Monk’s Sharon Lawrence, Entourage’s Perry Leeves and Grey Guy James Pickens Jr.

    Old Hollywood
The Clark Gable Carol Lombard suite at the famed Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is Hollywood history. GBK celebrated the Emmy’s in the PH with 60 vendors showering gifts on to several celebs. Leeza Gibbon’s, Mario Lopez and Joey Lawrence danced their way through the suite with style stopping at each vendor. Debra Messing graced the vendors with a fleeting presence and Mike Moloney of Extreme Makeover Home Edition may need to add an addition on to his home. He walked out with two duffle bags of swag, a fully loaded dolly and a gal carrying a swag bag for him. Suite highlights were Cadillac’s fragrance, Virgin, Esuchen Hair, Sphatika skincare and travel kit, Daily Detox, snacks from Ritual, 3 Lab skin and El Dorado Seaside Suites, perfect for the romantic traveler.

Over The Hills and Far Far Away
Kari Feinstein’s suites get sweeter each time. Celebs were driven up in plush cars to the tiptop of the hills to a sprawling Hollywood estate. Free and easy Paris, Lovely Hewitt, Dave Navarro, Dancing Keibler, CSI’s Eva La Rue, HSM heartthrob Corbin Bleu, Idol’s Randy & Paula, The Hills and recent Emmy reality winner Kathy Griffin were but a few of the celebs that made a day of it. Fraxel was in the house redecorating and resurfacing famous Hollywood faces with their state of the art laser treatments. Skin Haven offered facials and toe tingling reflexology while Reebok and Silpada offered sportswear and silver. Charlie Lapson had divas drooling over his haute Hollywood bags. The intuit Laura Day, a New York Times bestseller blew every one away with her wisdom and warmth. Trago margaritas were the drink of choice. Cheers!

    A Flock of Segals
Melanie Segal’s Suite was the perfect end to a swag week. Held on the terrace of the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo, there was a cool summer breeze blowing by Plantronic’s blue tooth headsets, games for geeks at the Worlds of Warcraft booth, bags for electronics geeks at the Liz Clairborne/Best Buy booth, Reebok, MBT shoes, Alterna’s caviar hair care, Beach Bunny bikinis (featured in this years Sports Illustrated), intraceuticals skin care and Bottlenotes wine. Jai Rodriguez, 20% of The Fab 5 was fiercely fashionable and friendly.

    Bada Bling
HBO has plenty to celebrate this year with their slew of nominations. The Italians, both local and imported with Rome & Sopranos will kiss their shows goodbye. Curb continues to get enthusiastic reviews and The Conchords, the wee Kiwi’s that could, continue to charm. Media Placement produces the HBO Lounge at The Four Seasons. A listers are privy to PF Flyers, AG jeans, Unite hair care, Sephora make up, Freeze 24.7, FRS energy drink (Lance Armstrong’s secret), Dove Chocolates (official chocolatier for the Emmy’s serving10,000 pounds of chocolate this week) and Belvedere cocktails with their Soprano’s Bada Bing Crush or The Ari Gold Standard Martini.

    Bitter Suite
For those unable to make the suites, there’s plenty of gifting going on all over town The Entertainment Tonight/People Magazine Party has one of the most coveted gift bags in town. HBO is said to rival that bag this year.

    Thanks for The Good Times
Just for showing up, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will give all presenters (including the cast of Desperate Housewives, Everybody Loves Raymond, and stars like Rachel Bilson, Jon Stewart, and Zach Braff) a Dooney & Bourke leather satchel filled with an Elini Swiss watch, a one-year membership card to The Sports Club/LA, two round-trip first-class tickets on United’s ‘’P.S.'’ premium flights (with service between NY & San Fran or LA), services from Ona Spa, Prive Salon, and much, much more.

    Win Win
For Emmy nominees, Distinctive Assets, an L.A.-based entertainment marketing company, has assembled consolation prizes worth more than $25,000 for the runners-up in the 12 major acting categories. Some of the goodies are a One-year membership to Clay Gym in New York ($2,500), A year of OxeSlim diet products ($2,000) a case of wine from Rioja to numb the pain ($500), A 45-minute flight around Los Angeles (nominee gets to pilot!), courtesy of Hollywood Aviators ($250), Gear from Gibson guitar ($200), London Sole ballet flats ($155) and tons more.

    That’s a Wrap!

    Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton had the honor of being the last VIP guest to arrive at the Kari Feinstein lounge. Hilton said she stopped by just to check out the jewelry designs by pal January Jones, but the heiress also perused clothes from KIN and J. Lindeberg.

    Kate Walsh and Kate Somerville

Beauty guru Kate Somerville welcomed pals like Kate Walsh, Paris Hilton and Kristen Bell to her Hollywood clinic for some pre-Emmy pampering. Wlahs was head over heels for a free trip to the Four Seasons Resort in Maui—where she can keep up her skin care regimen at the Kate Somerville Spa. "Why haven't I had this before?" Walsh asked after trying the Muscle Lift face treatment. "You guys have been hiding this from me!"

I met him once at my friend's party (he's her cousin). He's sooo energetic and charismatic, his energy just beams off onto everyone. It's amazing.

Anyhow lol, I wish I were a celebrity. As if they don't have the millions of dollars to buy that stuff on their own.
