nb: Damier was indeed older than LV Mono. but they stopped using it since the Mono was created. it only got reintroduced in 1996 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the LV Monogram

Okay that makes sense. I was surprised when I originally read that it was introduced before the Mono. I did not remember it being around when I was growing up. (way before 1996)

^^I had forgotten about that myself. Surprisingly, the Monogram was released as a way to counter the fakes that were made of the Damier...even back then!
