What's the most expensive item of clothing you've ever bought?

I am a self professed bargain shopper, I love quality clothes and when I can find them on sale, I pounce on it! The most expensive item that I have in my closet are these beautiful Helmut Lang leather pants, retail $1050, what I paid $250, by the way...this does not include, shoes, handbags nor jewelry.

It has slots that LOOK like pockets, but no actual pockets. I was too excited to order it when my DBF gave me his credit card and didn't read the description fully. Sigh. It's really nice though!

Are you sure they aren't pockets? Check the slots carefully. Most of the time you need to remove the temporary stitching.

The most expensive thing I've ever bought was probably a leather coat when I lived in Italy that was some 850 Euro, and for the life of me I can't remember the designer - I gave it to my sister. Not including purchases my mums made for me...

The most expensive clothing I own though... bought by BF's mother. When I completed my degree I rewarded myself with a dark blue reversable hooded lamb leather jacket (suede on one side, shortly sheared fur on the reverse) for 2160€ (around $2800) by Etro.

The only time I ever came close to this again was with a Bottega Veneta tote.

rick owens metallic bronze bomber jacket, A/W 2009, $2500 retail, $810 paid.
zac posen red sandwashed silk evening gown, no idea what collection, $2939 retail, $157 paid.
donna karan collection reversible shearling jacket, A/W 2010, $3900 retail, $450 paid.
