What would be a good first LV?

i would say speedy or neverful since they are classics and super usefull and go with everything. my first LV was the backpack Montosouris (sp?) and i love it to this day. esp for school/ work. but if you want something for over shoulder Id say neverful since its so versatile and the price point cant be beat. and although I dont have one, waiting for the Muarakami one- they say it holds a great amount and is super sturdy

A Speedy! It's such a classic and timeless bag. You can buy a shoulder strap for it if you want. That will solve the problem .

You can get a strap to attach to a speedy, that gives the option of a shoulder bag or a hand held... or wait until January and get the Neverfull in damier! That is a great starter bag!
