What was your first job?

My first job was at a convenient store when I was 14. I made a whopping 2.00/hr, under the table. I had to stock the shelves, beer, soda, sweep, mop, etc, etc. After a month or two I got a raise to 2.50/hr. I pretty much hated it aside from the fact that I learned how to cuss in Hebrew.

Well, besides babysitting which I started doing for several families when I was NINE (I now think, what???!?!?!), I worked a summer in the cornfields when I was 14. First we took out the volunteer corn, then we took out the rogue corn and then we detasselled by hand. I earned $3.35 an hour and worked ALL DAY LONG in the hot, humid Iowa sun or rain. Worst job ever.

Besides babysitting and private lessons to kids of my mum's friends, my first real job was shop assistant at the Calzedonia shop of my little town (Calzedonia is the most famous italian socks shop) when I was 17. Next job, while I was at the university, was shop assistant at Benetton.
