for my HS graduation, my mom got me a Coach leather drawstring bag...keep in mind, this is back in the day when Coach was all leather, and really popular...I knew I was hot stuff w/my bag, and I still have it, but don't use it anymore.
It's a tie. A Bally quited suede bag in black that retailed for $450 (paid $150), and an LV Speedy 25 for a little over $200. I had sales associates all over my department asking me if I had any idea how many times they could have sold that Bally bag because everyone wanted it in black.
My first was a Fendi that I bought in LA on my first trip with my DH. I purchased at Nordstrom in the Glendale Galleria. That was a good day ... I bought so much stuff! Here's a pic of my first designer bag:
A red valentino handbag in 2000. I was so excited to buy that...a graduation present to myself. It took a few years before I felt financially secure enough to buy another "designer bag" though.
