What to Pack for a Weekend in Vegas...

  1. Going to Las Vegas for a long weekend in January...

What do I bring that can only fit in a carry-on size bag:

    Shoes?
    Warm clothes?
    Tops?
    Bottoms?
    Bags?
    Clubwear?

I need some ideas, thank you in advance for your input!

  2. In January, high temp is upper 50's and low temp can be in the 30's or 40's. So if you plan on doing a lot of walking, then you need some type of coat. Even if you cab it everywhere, you need a sweater or wrap cause it can be cold in the cab line and in the casinos. Comfortable walking shoes are a definite must - I usually take more than one pair as there is also a lot of walking involved even in the casinos and shopping (of course). But anything really goes there - I have seen people dressed to the nines and others in sweat clothes, so if you like to dress up, this is the place. Pick a color theme and match everything around that - so you can get multiple use from accessories and wraps.

Have a great time - one of my fav places to visit!

  3. I suppose the question really is, what are you planning to do in Vegas? If you're not going to hit the party circuit, then I would definately dress comfortable and bring great walking shoes. Personally, for a long weekend, I would bring one coat, one dress (in the even that you do choose to hit the clubs or a nice dinner), jeans and a pair of nice pumps that are versatile (along with my comfy shoes). Remember it's Vegas, so if you realize you forgot something, you can always hit any of the fabulous stores on the strip to find anything you need :okay:

  4. Bring a good pair of walking shoes....

  5. I agree with the walking shoes (wear them on the plane and pack a cute pair for going out if you want). I also agree with the color scheme ( I usually choose black) I love jeans and a turtleneck (also you could wear on the plane) and pack a cute sequin tank and jacket for nights out. Have fun. I was supposed to be there last week, and had to cancel at the last minute because of work obligations. I am jealous. Make sure you hit up the great shopping at the outlets there.

  6. Thanks! Ooh, where are the outlets located?

HAPPY SHOPPING!! I'm going week of xmas so I'm excited!

  8. Usually I'll bring a pair of black pants and some jeans, great comfortable walking boots, a warm jacket, and a big warm wrap/scarf in a bright color. Then, I throw in several of my cutest tops--a silk tunic, a beaded tank, a sexy halter. That way, if you have to go dressy, you can wear a nice top and black pants with your wrap thrown over; and if you're more casual you can just wear the jeans, cute top, and jacket.

Wear a pair of comfy sweatpants and a sweats jacket with sneakers and a tee or cotton tank on the plane, and you're set!

  9. Thanks! And thank you for the shopping info.

Good ideas, especially about the wrap!

  10. I think in a carryon, it should be a full outfit. Wear your overcoat or something, have a shirt, undies, pants and some kinda comfy/fab shoe in there. Along with travel sized products! and meds!

  11. According to the Lucky Shopping Manual (which I loooove), for a city "holiday", take:

    - a casual top
    - tank
    - neutral pants
    - beaded skirt
    - versatile skirt
    - evening top
    - heels
    - clutch
    - casual jacket
    - pencil skirt
    - flats
    - small tote
    - structured sweater
    - 2 pairs of earrings (hoops and drop)

    According to the book:

    Uptown shopping:
    - structured sweater
    - tank
    - neutral pants
    - flats
    - small tote

    Theater night:
    - evening top
    - drop earrings
    - beaded skirt
    - heels
    - clutch

    Sightseeing:
    - casual jacket
    - tank
    - pencil skirt
    - flats
    - tote
    - hoops (I added this)

Hope that helps. And yes, I need a manual to tell me how to dress. :p

  12. Just got back from Vegas....all I can say is bring couple of pairs of comfortable shoes and warm clothes. It's freezing over there. If you decide to go clubbing or lounging....dress sexy with skinny jeans, skirts, and nice pumps.
