Box, Box, Box. I'd love one in 30cm with GH.
But since this is unavailable, Swift is a great choice. Buttery soft, silky to the touch, and it holds color so well...it looks more formal than Togo and Clemence, but can also be quite casual since it tends to slouch. It's the best all around leather, I think.

OK, I'm in the minority. I have black togo and love it. I would also like it in clemence. My black Birkin is a workhorse bag. I have worn it on a daily basis, travel with it and give it hard wear. After 8 years, it has nary a mark on it. I think the way one intends to use a bag is a good determining factor for the leather choice. Just my opinion but I'd reserve box for a bag I use less often because I don't deal well with scratches, rain blisters, etc.
I love Box Calf leather. It will get a very nice glowing patina after use and with PH. It's my dream bag!
I love box calf but I like it better in a Kelly than a Birkin. For me, the perfect leather for a Black Birkin is Togo because it holds up to scratches, good for a workhorse bag, and it slouches a little. If I had two black bags, I would go for a Birkin in Togo and a Kelly 32 in box calf.
