I think a ring of scammers has arrived and seems to be selling scary close fakes.

The first one we found (actually, credit Quinna for bringing it up) was posted in AT Coach:

Then another buyer posted on the ebay forum because she paid over $500 for a Swagger to be shipped priority and the seller doesn't ship for over 15 days.

In looking at the listings, I've uncovered several sellers with similar listings, similar pictures, IDs that follow similar name patterns and seller locations in the NY/NJ area, all in fairly close proximity to each other. All are new sellers with many NWOT bags.

Personally, I'd avoid any of these sellers and the styles of bags they're selling but if you feel you must buy, have your listings looked at by experts.

So looking at some of them on there, people are claiming they are asian exclusive bags..... A good friend of mine is the store manager at my Coach boutique and told me there are no more asian or european exclusive bags, everything is the same in every country now. Don't be fooled by the exclusion comments.

I'm going by the locations stated in the listings. I'm not even convinced that they're in the US. (I've seen many of these types of scams and the sellers are actually in Asia and just using US locations.)

The similarity of these listings to other scams is that they're low feedback new sellers, IDs have similarities in the name choices, pictures are similar and there are a handful of backgrounds and sets of images that they share, descriptions are the same, shipping and TOS are alike, NWOT items that are highly faked styles, etc.

Usually the scams are with more expensive brands such as LV, Gucci and Chanel.

I'm just posting the warning to make everyone aware because I suspect that the bags aren't going to be easy to identify as fake and at these prices, that's an expensive error.

I remember on one of the listings I saw, was that I kept wondering why it was new without tags, but yet they had random packaging on places like the handles, etc. It was very odd to me. It is like they put packaging on to make it look new somehow, but if you have removed the tag you most likely would have also removed the packaging.

That was how I noticed one as well--the lining. I compared how it looked at Coach and then on the ebay pictures, and it looked unlike any lining I have ever seen on a Coach bag....

Oh, man! Those do look fake. That lining is not right. I just went to check the lining of my regular sized Swagger, and the lining is not the same. These are fakes. Good catch, OP!

Now, if I look at the green regular sized one, the lining looks real. Are they selling some real, some fake?

Interesting that they included detailed inside tag pics for the only one that could possibly be legit.

I saw his swagger 27 in denim and watermelon on eBay a few weeks back. Wanted them since I love the 27 size. But checked out these same bags on the Coach HK site and used a currency converter to figure out the price. It would cost about $650 or so to buy it from Coach HK but he was offering them at $299. Something was not right.

I agree that some of these bags don't look real, but I will say that there are still Asian exclusives. A simple search of the Chinese and Hong Kong site pulls up many styles and colors not available here in the states.

worrisome. I just sold a genuine Michael Kors item on ebay....buyer did not yet pay. New York zip code with a similar user name. Without naming the person, it is a user with a mans name followed by 4 digits. Low count of transactions on ebay too.


I think something is going on...
