As some of you may know, I had been waiting to see this kelly IRL for a while. And now that I saw it, I need some advice and (moral) support whether I should take it. [emoji13][emoji23]

Here are the photos of the baby ImageUploadedByPurseForum1439260744.070178.jpg ImageUploadedByPurseForum1439260812.411364.jpg

Overall, she is still stunning and pretty much gorgeous..though she has big scratches here and there (some obvious, some don't) and some water drop marks.

Anyone can advice me whether this baby is VN/ chamonix pls? It is in I stamp square.

If it were you ladies, would you mind a smooth leather bag with scratches and some water drop marks? Will you treat the marks before using it or just leave them like that and just enjoy the bag? Do you think these marks can be treated?

Thank you, ladies [emoji173]️

This is VN in my opinion though I invite the experts to chime it. It's GORGEOUS and I would grab it and RUN. Both VN and Chamonix are rare but VN ages beautifully and gets darker with age - it takes on a warm honey glow. The marks will blend in and gain a patina over time. However, it is a leather that, like barenia, is prone to showing scratches and marks. This will contribute to the beauty of the bag later on but you may want to read up on VN as it's not for the faint hearted. I have a VN bolide and its the bag I get the most compliments on because of its timeless beauty and warm honey glow. Good luck!

It is VN. It depends on how you feel about saddle leather and if you want the kelly 28 to be formal or casual use. VN kelly will develop some characters. VN is discountinued and it is fairly hard to find VN kelly in pristine condition. Perhaps the question is how much do you like it ? Do you prefer VN or Chamonix? do you want the kelly to be pristine or have some chic vibe? I guess I am not much of help. But it is beautiful bag. I love Hermes saddle leather.:p

Yeahh I can see some beautiful patina already (apart from those obvious marks) I guess for those obvious scratches and marks it might take a big while to develop a patina. I actually consider myself kinda faint hearted person however those obvious marks help me a lot as I believe I do not need to be worried much since some scratches and marks have already been there. Still I'm not sure how I will react if I scratch it myself or if new big obvious scratches happen because of me so I'm considering taking it to the bag spa (not with hermes) for the waterproof and scratch resistant if I was to take or use it...but worried a bit about later on if I want to take the bag to hermes spa..I've heard hermes won't take the bag for a spa if discovers that the bag has been spa-ed elsewhere.

Hi Maplemoose..I ve never had anything saddle leather before. (Except cowhide on my LV bag..is it counted?[emoji28]) so this is very new thing to me..I'm still not sure how I feel about her. I danced when I saw her from quite a distant with its pristine look and the feeling of sellier and smooth leather make it look so elegant...just I'm not sure whether I will be too afraid to use it or not. But yeah I always heart kelly sellier..and this bag is kelly 25 sellier so it is a plus for me..I love sellier and it's 25 so double plus for me..just the leather that I'm not sure whether I will be too faint hearted to use ..that's why I need you ladies' advice and experience sharing on how you ladies use your VN bag

After reading your replies, I am not certain. I love VN, but I have several other Kelly. Good luck making decisions. This is the first VN K25 I have seen. As rare as it is, you have to love it.

Marks are par for the course for saddle leathers which add to the character. If that will bother you, you may want to look at Togo or Clemence or Swift which will not scratch like box, barenia or VN. Here's my VN bolide - tons of marks and scratches but look at the patina :)

I have a VN HAC. It is in the getting the patina phase. I do not mind scratches, watermarks, etc. because I know it will all blend in eventually. I buy bags like VN/Barenia/Chamonix to use them as workhorse bags. They're saddle leathers that are meant to be beat up.

But that being said, you have to love the little Kelly and it needs to have a use in your wardrobe.

And jyyanks, your bolide is just beautiful!!!!

This is over-the-top gorgeous!!!!!!!

This would be my first and only Kelly (as for now). I do love it but may need to convince myself not to afraid to use it a little more Lol

Thanks for your input jyyanks:) your bag is beautiful!

Oh Moose,

I have your bag's big sister and I have yet to use her as I am afraid. I have a Barenia Birkin as well and have used her all summer, but the VN Kelly---cannot get her out of the house.

jywanks' bolide is gorgeous with the aged patina but this takes a while to develop.

Honestly, this Kelly is a stunner but has some use so the price, while rare, should be somewhat of a deal to me. Good luck dear!!
