Veterans Day

  1. Just wanted to extend my thoughts and prayers to all those Veterans who fought so bravely for our right to live the safe, comfortable lifestyle we all enjoy in this country. My father was a vet of the Korean War and every year I'd tell him "Thank you dad for serving our country!" He was proud of his service and I was very proud of him.

    We love you Vets!
  2. We ask for blessings on all those who have served their country in the armed forces.
We ask for healing for the veterans who have been wounded, in body and soul, in conflicts around the globe.
We pray especially for the young men and women, in the thousands, who are coming home from Iraq with injured bodies and traumatized spirits.
Bring solace to them, may we pray for them when they cannot pray.
We ask for an end to wars and the dawning of a new era of peace,
As a way to honor all the veterans of past wars.

Have mercy on all our veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Veterans of Foreign Wars,
Bring peace to their hearts and peace to the regions they fought in.
    Bless all the soldiers who served in non-combative posts;
May their calling to service continue in their lives in many positive ways.

Give us all the creative vision to see a world which, grown weary with fighting,
Moves to affirming the life of every human being and so moves beyond war.

May everyone have a good day.
  3. thanks to all the brave men and women who are keeping us free. i was an army brat and know first hand the sacrifices our armed forces make everyday.

everyday, but especially today, i give thanks to all the brave men and women that protect our country.
  6. I'm extremely thankful for all the vets who made it so we have freedom, who fought and lost their lives, lost their friends and have been through so much themselves, all for their country. I have the utmost respect for vets.
  7. Thanks for this thread!
Both of my grandpa's were in WWII (Navy) and my dad (Navy) and uncle (Army) were in Vietnam. My dad served nearly 30 years in the Navy and I have nothing but the utmost respect for the military as a whole. They need more than just a day to recognize their sacrifices IMO but it's heartwarming to see people showing their respect to them.
    Irish-that's beautiful!
  8. Thank you veterans for protecting out country in times of need and for the always welcome day off!
