To Treat Or Not To Treat...?

  1. So I bought my first LV on the weekend... started with a speedy 35 (I think it's just lovely!)

Anyway, with my other bags (they're all leather, this is my first non-leather number) I treat them before using them with a special spray that makes them a little more durable and less likely to be susceptible to the weather and colour transfer, etc.

This might be a bit of a noob question... but should I treat the handles of my speedy? I want them to patina (can't wait for that!) but don't want them to get water damage or anything. :confused1:

    Thanks in advance...

  2. I sprayed them with a waterprotector, so that water wouldn't stain them. It doesn't impact the patina process, slowing it down or speeding it up, IMO. But I think people are pretty divided on whether to spray or not, and what product to use...
