So pissed at the LV store...(long posts sorry)

So sorry to hear this sort of thing happen to you! Thank god you managed to get a piece in the end.

Is your friend a tourist?

Which store is it, is it Ngee Ann City? Which store did you buy from eventually?

Did you get that guy's name down? Feedback must be given to them, they cannot treat customers this way!

Hi, no my friend is not a tourist. We have been patronising LV forever and prior to yesterday's purchase, she has purchased 3 pieces of LE lockit miroirs, so she should be consider a valuable customer! And the SA who serves us is supposedly the mgr according to another friend of ours. But when we asked is he the manager, he answered 'no, he is just an SA' with no authority, what excuse rite! I strongly detest such behavior. And yeah this happened at Ngee Ann City, in the end we went to Raffles Hotel (which provides better quality service)

Me from Singapore too. And unfortunately, the service at Ngee Ann City SC is rather disappointing. I rather shop at DFS or Hilton.

Anyways, I have only heard of LVs in Paris that will limit purchases. Not more than 2 purses per customer, I think. My friend went to Paris last month and had to buy her purses under her husband's and kids' names.

There is an article about this somewhere around the internet. If I can find it, I will post it up here..

All these stores are suspicious of purchases that include multiples of the same bag. Such purchases get you blacklisted at coach, LV, and I hear even places like target (for their designer stuff). This is because their return policy is long enough for people to list it online for a profit. If it doesn't sell, people just return it.

I dunno, but I think the fact that your friend bought 3 identical limited edition hard to find bags screamed reseller to them. They still shouldn't have invited you both to come down for nothing. Did he say how long your friend will be unable to purchase?

Wow. I have heard of stores putting limits on purchasing a certian number of a specific item but I wouldn't think a store like LV would want to limit how much you purchased. I would call the 866 number and ask. I would tend to agree with vuittonamour about them decidiing the bag should go to someone else. Pretty crappy if you asked me.

i think most likely, the SA did not really reserve and came up with this excuse

how can there be a limit? total bull to me

you can write in a complain to them about it...

or tell their manager straight about his poor customer service ...she is very helpful and will take care of it for u...

I highly doubt so, as the bag that they were disallowed to buy is not a LE item. And they did purchase one in another store just 20 mins away, so it looks like an open and shut case of the SA screwing up and giving an excuse to cover up their mistake.

I think the OP should definitely complain, the store in question is extremely high volume and the staff may be overworked, but that is still no excuse for such behavior.

They should just apologise for the screwup and indent the piece over. I don't go to the NAC one anymore except if I'm browsing. I go straight to Raffles if I'm buying.

Probably, they might be suspicious of her buying behavior for the LEs but still like you said, they shouldn't hv asked us to go down for nothing...and no, he did not bother to explain how long she was unable to purchase.

well....i've just experieced the worst service at the LV store on Collins St in Melbourne, that's why I rarely go there, I usually shop at the Crown Casino store, and people are nice to me there. All the SAs at Collins st sxck! I asked about something, then they replied as if I can't afford the thing, and said, oh sorry, that's for our very special customers and are very limited...so we can't sell it to you or even show you! BS!!!! Try that at the Crown store, they will take out anything I want to see, even if it's under someone else's reservation!

whats the name of that SA?

i will try to avoid him if possible then

make a complain so that LV will know such things happen...else that SA will be happily getting his year end bonus without any glitches...

This was at a local store in SG- Ngee Ann City. Anyway me & my friend have decided to boycott this store from now on due to the poor customer service!

Actually I have heard of this before in Singapore, though it's never happened to me (I don't buy enough anyway). Apparently Singapore is one of the cheapest Asia to buy LV (at least till July as tax has recently gone up for another 2%) and many tourists come in to buy loads to re-sell. I think it happens when you buy the LE / seasonal stuff - they probaby won't sell more than 2 pieces to you as they get such limited stocks and the waitlist is so long.

However, that said, that SA was thoroughly rude. I would have asked to see the manager.

and teddyraph, I have quit going to that store - they make you queue outside (which to me is ridiculoous already) you get in and they take forever to serve you and they are almost always very rude.

I have since only frequented the LV store at Raffles Hotel. Much nicer, SAs are superb.
