On a live wire right up off the street
You and I should meet
Junebug skipping like a stone
With the headlights pointed at the dawn
We were sure we'd never see an end to it all
And I don't even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don't know
Just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed into the earth below

1979 is my favorite song from one of my favorite bands, the Smashing Pumpkins. I spent the latter part of my childhood growing up in a small town USA and eventually became an alternative music junkie. When I entered my 30s, I found myself become another type of addict, a CL addict.

I have been wanting to do a collection thread for a long time, but I kept giving myself the excuse of one more pair. Just wait one more pair. However I was looking at 4 pairs on waitlists somewhere for the Fall 2011 collection, I knew I would never see the end of that excuse. Once I was determined to do a collection thread, I wanted it to be special and different. But I have never been creative enough to stand above the crowd, therefore I decided to just be myself and let my CLs do the talking for me.

I know this collection thread is 934,527,873 days overdue, I apologize for being so late. So wait no more, here it is!

This was sometime in Aug 2009...

The Nayer were my very first pair of Louboutin. I got them from DVF outlet store at Woodbury Commons, Central Valley, NY in November 2005. I have just taken a job with a pharmaceutical company and moved to NJ at that time. One week after I started, Thanksgiving Holiday came. My boss was telling me about this fabulous outlets where all the top name designers were, therefore I decided to venture into NY on a very cold Black Friday morning. The week before moving to NJ, I was still in Texas and the weather was high 80, so I had no idea how cold it would be in the east coast. When I left home that morning I only had a wool coat on, no hat, no scarf, and no socks. I remember standing in line outside of the Chanel store, and I couldn’t feel my ears. I saw the Nayers at the last store that I visited before heading home. I knew Louboutin back then, but I was much into Manolo and Miu Miu. I thought the design was very different and I liked how the red soles stood out against the leopard. They came home with me that day.

As it turned out, for the next 18 months I had a wonderful job and an amazing time living in NJ. The Nayers are nothing of spectacular, but they hold a very special place in my collection; they signify a life that I never expected to have, however short it might be.

Three years after the Nayer, I got my first pair of 120 with platform in November 2008. Things in the CL world were starting to look up.

I love the Gres design so much, I have to have the next two pairs. In addition, I actually went through 5 pairs of Greissimos just to find 2 keepers. Crazy things I do for the shoes I love.
