Sex & Sexuality....and pornography!

  1. Aloha all!

This post is on behalf of an anonymous member, but now that the member has brought the subject up, I admit to being curious about how the rest of us feel....

How do we feel about pornography?

More specifically how do women feel about it?:shame: How do we define it? Are we into it? Are we against it? Do we watch it with our mates? Do we watch it alone? :popcorn:Do modern women enjoy porn the way "the boys" do? :graucho:

Everyone from Paris to Oprah to Justice Potter Stewart ("I'll know it when I see it..." has had an opinion on it....what's yours?

  2. Hmm for me it depends, I don't mind watching porn if it has a solid story line. Kind of odd, but same goes with erotic novels for me. If there is a fetching story there I'll be interested. Its kind of just like seeing a good movie, with graphic sex scenes :roflmfao: I don't necessarilyn enjoy porn but I won't be totally opposed to watch it with the bf. Lucky for me he isn't a fan.

I do however find a lot of porn degrading, and I don't like to see women degrade themselves any more than they already are. I might get hanged for saying that, but seriously I do find a lot of porn more degrading than liberating for the feminist movement :roflmfao:

  3. Thanks for chiming in Berlyn!

After I posted, I thought about what I think porn is...and isn't. For me, while I don't mind nakedness for art's sake...I'm not a fan of the gratuitious sex scenes that get stuck in a lot of movies...

My BF says he's not into porn, and I'm glad to hear that...lol...but then, I've already told him if I find any in his possession, I'm throwing it away. I agree w/Berlyn when she says that porn is generally more degrading than liberating. I'm all for embracing sexuality for what it is, but my line is drawn when it involves watching complete strangers have sex.

I remember hearing in my Human Sexuality class in college that soft-core porn for women was a booming market (think Romance Novels in film form) and knowing (for myself) that it's just not something that would titillate me... but I've got friends who think it's hilarious to watch porn alongside their significant others.... the same girls who don't mind going to the strip clubs alongside their boyfriends...fine for some, just not for me.

  4. personally i think pornography is not right. i can understand if it's artistic movie/ art etc, but pornography websites and those triple x movies are big no no regardless of genders. to me it's the same as making love to SO vs having sex with stranger - the act is the same but the meaning is vastly different.

  5. "IS THERE PORNOGRAPHY ON YOUR PC? ARE YOU SURE? Scan your PC for free!"

The Google ad banner that was on rotation at the bottom of this thread when I happened to be reading it.
    Ha ha.

  6. :roflmfao::roflmfao:

  7. It's just something that's around for guys to get a quick fix - you know, the sex version of Ramen noodles.

I've seen guys look, and it doesn't bother me. I don't really watch porn (soft/hardcore/anything) not because I find it degrading, but because it's just boring. What's so interesting about some guy's willy?

  8. No one is forcing these women to perform these acts. That being said, I'm not sure how Max Hardcore's blatant degradation of women helps anyone. Personally, I don't like the hard stuff, but yes, I do enjoy the basic straight up intercourse porn, especially when it seems like the girl is very into it...and wearing hot shoes. ;)
I think a lot of porn and sexuality is caught in a vicious cycle. Our society is so closed minded that it makes people feel deviant for having a certain sexual desire. That he/she must hide it and eventually it festers and mutates to something totally outlandish...to the point that it's unhealthy. He/she feels wrong for liking whatever it is and eventually develops a sort of anger and resentment manifesting itself towards women in a sexual manner. It would be interesting to see the sales of various porn genres from around the world. I'd be willing to bet that the US has a higher volume of hardcore degradation type films being sold.

  9. That's probably because US has a much larger population anyway. I read somewhere that the largest percentage of hardcore/degradation type movies were sold in Japan.

  10. I really don't see anything wrong with porn I've watched and would again, but they can get a bit boring i.e I don't want to watch the same thing for 5-10 minutes move on I'm over it already

I don't see them as degrading the women made their choice to produce the movie and they get paid pretty well for it (in most cases).

Now on the other hand I've been into sex shops in Amersterdam and some of the videos they stock :wtf::wtf: that is something I won't be watching.

The strange thing was some stores where really nice set up very well very couple/woman friendly others when I walked in everyone walked out I don't think I was very popular with the management LOL

  11. Sorry for anyone who watches it but I am so mortally against it.
What people do in their own homes is of course their business, this is my opinion.
I think even soft porn is dangerous & can lead to harder stuff.
Pornography wrecked my marriage. I discovered 2000 hits of mostly young teenage girls & incest. I had to remove my husband from our home immediately to protect my children. I had never ever suspected his interest before but after being caught he admitted to having started off on the more "normal" stuff so guys forgive me for being really harsh on this one. I HATE IT!!

  12. It seems logical to me that in the moral argument against/for memes that advocate sex, such as pornography, any argument advocating such memes (i.e. advocating having more sex) will ultimately fail. We are currently dealing with a crisis of overpopulation; any activities that lead to further overpopulation will worsen the problem. There will eventually be a breaking point.

    Just my opinion.

  13. Very true. If anyone's interested, they should google "tentacle rape."

How do I feel about porn? Not into it.

  14. I'm not completely against porn but I'm not all for it either.

I've seen it a couple times as a joke with friends and IMO I found it very fake, boring and predictable. I swear the girl makes the fakest noises. People who think sex is just like in the "movies" are dead wrong.. it's not. All of my friends agree with me.

But I do think that some of it is degrading, especially when it shows the women as an object and not as a human. The way I've heard some of my guy friends talk about the girls in the videos is so degrading and it kind of makes me a little mad.

And I also think porn can become a problem when a guy starts to compare the girl on the screen with the girls he dates (or marries).

But anyways.. that's my opinion lol

  15. The sick side of me googled it and I read the wikipedia description.

All I can say is what has this world come too? That is just wrongggg!!!!
