Rude Neiman's SA bashing on Chloe Paddies!!

ITA^^^ Krazy4Bags about not wearing bags for just one season....maybe if I was independently wealthy tho :graucho:. Do you live in SF (from looking at your avatar) or just in the general Bay Area?? The NM I was referring to is in SF.

Yea seriously! If our bank accounts never dries out, who doesn't want to wear the IT bag every year?? But even tho I think I would still wear the "out" bags as long as I like them. I don't live in SF, just in general bay area. My bf and I actually went to NM in SF a few weeks ago and I felt the lack of service. We were downstairs looking at the men's watch and ties and no one acknowledge our presence at all, as if we were invisible. They were all too busy catching up on gossips!!! So we turned around and left. I don't think I would go back there again. Nordstrom and Bloomingdales have way better SA.

Hey Girls

Divnanata summed up beautifully what I came to realize upon my DH's brief encounter with the Chloe Specialist at Saks...WE are not the entire Chloe universe...heck...we're not even a blip on their radar screen!!!!!

This reminds me of a little women's clothing company in New England since the mid-80's. I learned of the company in the late 90's when they were down-sizing but they had the most wonderful website where you could go get the latest line drawings & pictures of their most recent clothing collections. I thought it was just SO COOL that these ladies would share their love for & addiction to this label on a daily basis

Now years & much reflection later...I'm tickled with a some of the things I've learned from the owner & the manager of her "mothership" store....these women who chat incessantly regarding the latest fit are neither here nor there to this company. They may order 6 or 7 pieces of clothing monthly but they are not even on a list of best buying customers much less anywhere near the top!!!

Our purse forum is a wonderful place so please do not think I'm faulting or slamming it in any way. I'm just pointing out that it's a very small place indeed even though at times it feels as if cyber-space is much larger.

She's dead wrong about it being out of style. You should inform Neiman Marcus not only because she's killing a sale for them, but moreover because she's reporting incorrect fashion/trend information to the consumer like it's the law, and "shaming" the customer (you) for your choices, based on her own biast. And, it sound like her "filter" for appropriate conversation to a consumer is way off.

Report this woman. What she did was beyond innapropriate. I would report her in a NY minute.

Have to add: This SA sounds like some Vogue Magazine assistant reject. She is also a moron not to understand that designers keep staples in their line -- Prada kept some of it's nylon bags for years, and LV has staples in its original monogram line, and this doesn't make those bags outdated or "last year". Chloe has some pieces I feel to be timeless. I love my Bay Bag and will carry it for years.

She should realize that not everyone is wildly trendy, which doesn't make them any less important customers. Frankly, being uber trendy is has never been my deal, but especially now that I work 70-80 hours a week and have precious little time to shop and read fashion mags and WWD. I've got other priorities than always knowing the latest thing out there.

Well said ^^^ It really is moronic to think like that witch of an SA. Think of LV mono and it has been a fashion staple FOREVER it seems, and then the Chloe Paddy is demoted because it was an "it" thing of the past but not the present. I think an "it" bag is what makes YOU smile when you are carrying it. Screw her, I am going to go buy ANOTHER Paddy while she is watching from across the sales floor :graucho:

Don't pay attention to that silly SA,if you love the style an the bag works for you that's all that matters.I don't believe in letting others determine what I consider to be the "It Bag" of the season.

^^^The ARGENT one - hmmmm???? I say GO FOR IT and make her suffer. No bonus coming her way!

:graucho::devil: My thoughts exactly.....I am thinking seriously about going to NM SF tomorrow on my day off to scope out bags in person, and I may just happen to mention the whole SA encounter.....actually, knowing me, I definitely will.

OK, so I went to NM SF today and told the SA that was helping me about "the incident", who happened to be a manager.......and they really did not give a crap about it. They just said, "Oh, well the Paddy is still a classic bag out of the Chloes..I mean they keep making it all the time." THAT WAS IT..... I am SO over NM and their garbage service whether in-store or on-line :cursing:

i don't think what she did was so serious. certainly not enough to get upset about. if you know what you like, who cares what an SA says? i wouldn't take it personally. and i wouldn't take the time to report her or anything. there are worse things SAs can do that would piss me off way more than this.

Er.....me!

Unless I genuinely like them, of course, but for some reason, I rarely like the 'it' items enough to buy them. :shrugs:

I almost always feel as though the designers are pushing (and by that I mean advertising) the relatively unnattractive items and the best stuff is often left to sell itself.

I only buy things if I really like them and I carry on using them until I don't feel they look right with my wardrobe anymore and I would do that regardless of how much money I had.

If I had been the manager you spoke to, I would have apologised for the other SA's behaviour.

Of course, the other SA could have been ruder (although, I'm not sure how, without personally insulting you!), but she made you, the customer, feel uncomfortable about a purchase you had recently made from their store and that is completely unacceptable, IMO.
