Promissory Note

  1. Hello ladies,

I was just wondering if using google to COPY the way a Promissory note should look like, is that illegal?

  2. Probably. It depends on who posted the note.

If the note was posted by a government agency, you are fine. They don't care about copyright for this kind of thing.

If the note was posted by a law firm, individual, or some kind of company (even a non-profit one) you are proably stealing their work.

I think I saw a promissory note form on Lawyer, Lawyers, Attorney, Attorneys, Law, Legal Information - FindLaw You fill in the blanks and buy the license to print the form. Around $15.

I don't get a nickel for mentioning FindLaw. I just used to work at a law firm so I know about them. I can usually find free forms by googling.

Why don't you google the words below to try to find a note?
+"promissory note" and +gov -com -net -biz
You may wish to add the two letter abbreviation for your state.

    Maybe Nolo.com can help you.

  3. thank you so much for your help!
