Post links/research about counterfeits here

Really great and timely thread. I don't have an article to contribute but I will share that I just closed my account on Poshmark.com due to the excessive and brazen exchanges of counterfeit bags. It's a serious matter and businesses like PM must implement stronger policies on knock offs. One of the primary reasons I joined this forum is so I can learn and benefit from the expertise of this community. My goal is to slowly build a resale business and need to educate myself on what tips off s fraudulent bag.
Eloquent! I agree, that's why I joined, as well!

Japan crackdown on fake merchandise
Published: 13 Mar 2014 at 11.17
Online news:

Japan's customs authorities blocked the import of a record number of fake brand products and other items violating intellectual property rights in 2013, the Finance Ministry said Thursday.

The number totaled 28,135, up 5.7% from 2012, marking a record high for the second straight year, the ministry said, adding 91.9% of the imitation goods came from China by post or cargo.

Bags accounted for 44.5% of the total, clothes for 15.6% and shoes for 10.4%. Fake smartphone cases and exercise DVDs increased remarkably.

Authentic merchandise of the sort and volume contained in the blocked imports would have been worth around 13.0 billion yen, the ministry said.

I was at Narita airport in Tokyo just last week, and they had a counterfeit goods awareness display there. There were several authentic and fake bags shown side by side, and it was incredible how good the fakes have gotten in the recent years! My fiance and I were staring at the fakes for a long time trying to find the differences

Found a picture someone posted of the display: https://twitter.com/issykeith/status/424445569436635136/photo/1
