OMG, HELP with my Epi Mandarin Bucket!!

  1. I just purchased this bag in July and so it is only 3 months old. I have used this bag a few times and I just pulled it out of the dust cover to use it and I noticed there are little brown spots/markings toward the bottom of the bag. It would not wipe off and it looks like a problem with dye/leather? Has anyone had a problem like this with their Epi mandarin bags? ALso, I purchased this thru 866-Vuitton which located the bag in Florida and it was sent to me. I don't know if I should call 866-Vuitton or just take it to my local boutique?
I am SOOOO totally bummed because I know I won't be able to replace this bag! uuugghhh, what to do? I don't even know if I want the bag dyed because it will probably ruin/change the feel of the leather. If worse comes to worse do think they will at least let me exchange or give me a credit? Please let me now if you have any advice or suggestions for me!:crybaby:
  2. Oh know, sorry this happened to you, usually the epi leather is very durable. If you wipe it the spots don´t come off? I don´t know but maybe you should show it to LV and see what they think.
  3. Take it to your local Vuitton shop and see what they can do..
  4. maybe they are scuffs?
  5. If you didn't notice the marks before you stored it then it sounds like it may be mildew. Do you live in a very humid area?
Take it in a Nola suggested, Lv will be able to tell you what is going on & a possible solution.
Good luck, LV is good at making it right if it is a defect.
  6. oh no... i would take it to the LV boutique. good luck!
  7. Pics? It might be mold as storing items in humid places may cause it.
  8. No, it is definitely not scuffs (some of the marks are little dots) and I don't think it could be mold. I live in a brand new home in Northern CA and I don't and have & never had any mold issues. It is so bizarre because it seems like the brown fron the leather is coming up though the orange. I will try to take pics tomorrow.
  9. Definitely it take to LV and see what they say.
  10. Okay~ Just checked My Mandarin Bucket~ No marks like what you have described...Hope you get this figured out! Good luck...definitely go to LV...:flowers:
  11. I am so sorry to hear this. Take it to a store and let us know what you find out.
  12. :confused1: :?: :wtf:
  13. MOLD! *now i have to check all my bags* ugh!
  14. It sounds like mildew.... Mold LOVES leather, and it could be that you set the bag down on a wet spot and the leather absorbed it. Mold spores are everywhere, all it takes is one to land on your bag when it is wet!! Good luck with that.
  15. Update - I took my Epi bag into LV today and the Repair Specialist doesn't think that it is mold or mildew but something with the leather/dye or maybe a transfer. They tried to clean it with a special solution that they use but it didn't come off. I swear where the dots/marks are it looks like the mocha color epi as if the mandarin faded or rubbed off. Anyway, they will send it out for assessment and I can have the panel replaced. If it is a defect, LV will pay. I know one thing for sure, I have used this bag twice and it has been no where near any water or moisture of any kind. I am so super careful with my bags. I should know what happened for sure in about two weeks.
