I kinda feel like a dissenting view here, but it feels like this could have been made for any brand and then they stuck in LV. It's like commercial template more than a commercial designed with the LV brand in mind.
Beautiful ad! Almost meditative. The "journey" theme really is quintessential Louis Vuitton being that LV became known for its luggage. I like the fact that it targets an elite audience but is not obvious. Nor flashy. Very sophisticated.
It is a classy add and it is better than I thought it was going to be. I still am not sure if it will benefit the company or not. Mass advertising has to hurt their luxury image.
After reading here yesterday that there was going to be a TV ad I thought to myself "oh God, here we go". But nothing tacky and there wasn't too much logo throughout. I think the ad fits their image. I liked it.
Don't like it- just so bland and forgettable. I think it's a bit embarrassing to have a luxury brand put out a commercial anyway- on what channel is it supposed to appear? After a McDonald's ad during the Super Bowl?
