Offbeat but Interesting Movies

  1. We were surprised by The Real Blonde, better than I thought it would be, but I think Maxwell Caulfield is adorable. And Matthew Modine isn't so bad either.

We also liked The Tao of Steve, a lot. I watched Sex and Lucia all the way through, but my DH thought there was too much male full frontal nudity. And perhaps he was right. Just after he left the room, at about one hour 38 minutes into the movie, there was a rather egregious close-up. Just warning - we have a big screen so it look, er, big.

The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill is sweet. It's a documentary - it's very different. Even if you're not fond of birds.

For motorcycle girls (and their guys), the 1969 movie, The Hells Angels 69 is great. But, then, I like a long extended view of guys on motorcycles. There's also a great plot in this one, much more charming and smart than Oceans 11-12-N.

I have a list of a bunch more 1960's genre classics if anyone's interested, too.
  2. Shallow Grave with Ewen MacGregor.
The Last Seduction with Linda Fiorentino
    Exotica with Mia Kirschner
  3. Poinette
    Wings of Desire
    All the Real Girls
