NYC tax?

  1. I read here before that the NYC is decreasing to 4% Sept. 1? Is this true? So, for items over $109 the tax is 4%?
     
  2. Hmm, haven't heard that but if it's true - GREAT since i live in NYC!
     
  3. I read this a while back somewhere here, can't find the post. I wonder if it's just a rumor?
     
  4. Here are the new tax details:

    "Effective September 1, 2007, clothing and footwear are exempt from the 4% New York City local sales and use taxes, regardless of the cost. Clothing and footwear costing $110 or more were previously subject to local taxes but will now be subject to State taxes only.":smile:

  7. that's fantastic...as soon as nyc becomes tax free for clothing and shoes like nj, i won't need to drive over there anymore!
