I've never had to do that and I've bought 5-6 bags and accessories since Dec. It doesn't bother me, though. Probably better in the long run.

bought 3 speedies one on the 13th and 2 on the 17th but i didnt have to sign on ANY of the receipts and i went to 2 different LV stores.

I just bought something a week ago and just had it returned, few days a go because it wasn't what I was expecting. Didn't sign anything...

I bought azur pouchette and cles last friday. I didn't have to that. They only ask for my signature for the credit card stuff.

I always had to do that (started buying bags since March last year). But it depends on the store. For example, my local store ALWAYS asks me to initial while the 5th Ave. store never did.

I just purchased my Mono Riveting bag yesterday and I did not have to initial the receipt.

I purchased an Epi Speedy Black from the 5th Ave. store for a going away party for a colleague that is leaving our office and I didn't have to sign. Maybe b/c I used my AMEX Corporate card?

Yes, I had to do initial the bottom of the receipt. Most recent buy was in January '07. And yes, the SA explained this is a new policy.

I have had to do it on everything since December (3 items) in the boutique. I think it's a new policy (possibly because people are buying bags, using them and then trying to return them). I imagine this is very expensive company-wide for LV - they can't necessarily resell the bags then.

It's always bothered me too when I see posts about people returning bags used for several weeks because I worry that I would get a "used" bag, so I'm glad for any new policy that might cut down on that. While I know it's hard, I do think it's better to research a purchase carefully before buying rather than buying, using and returning, so I don't mind the new policy.

ITA. no offence to anyone who has returned their bags, i know the people here either baby their bags or think very hard about their purchases..
