My Find 4 Today (Free Museum Day )

  1. Free Museum Day

On September 30, 2006, for one day only, museums across the country will join the Smithsonian Institution in its long-standing tradition of offering free admission to visitors.

For the first time, Museum Day is open to the general public as well as Smithsonian magazine’s subscribers. Please scroll to the top or bottom of this page and click on the link to print your Museum Day card. This card is good for two people at any of the hundreds of participating museums!

    Are There Any Restrictions?

    General admission only
Not valid for special exhibits, IMAX screenings or for use with any other offer.
One time use on September 30, 2006.
Some participating museums may already have a free admission policy year round and are participating in the "spirit" of the day.

  2. Do you know what museums are participating? I couldn't find a link to see if there are any in Philly doing it.
  3. Just an fyi, most museums have free days anyway, they need to have a certain number of hours a year to qualify for certain grants. The exception is those that are fully privately endowed, they don't have to, but some still do. At least that from what I've learned.

Jillybean, this link will let you click on PA to see the participating locations for the Sept. 30th free day.
