How do you keep your homes moth-free?

I have just bought a pack of moth killer papers and they are strongly scented, I have put onein each of the 5 wardrobes in my bedroom as instructed, the scent is really noticeable and there is a warning sign like this kills pet fish and may cause allergic reactions. I'm not allergic to it, but is it really safe to be sleeping in a room filled with the scent of these poisoned papers? I'm a bit worried... I've googled the brand and there are no articles on this...does anyone use them safely or do you know any natural approaches that actually work?

Cloves.
I put a few whole cloves in pockets of wool clothing.
Lavender is nice, have tried dried tansy, but cloves work best for me.

Make sure items are laundered/clean.
Vacuum & shift things around in wardrobes often.
Moth larvae/eggs, on fabrics, may be killed by ironing or freezing.

Good luck.
